Yeah, bug itself is a pretty cool element. It just tends to get paired with the wrong element or horrible base stats.

See, Heracross is probally one of the best bug types out there, because he has some moves that can really screw people up. Megahorn is a pretty harsh move, and I think now he gets some even better fighting moves, like Close Combat and so forth.

And why in the world do they keep making more grass Pokemon mixed with Poison? Being weak to psychic type moves is not something you want, since just about every single trainer will have a reasonablly good psychic Pokemon that can probally kill it in 1 or if it's not that great, 2 hits.

I was pretty happy that Sceptile was a regular grass type, and even Meganium was too. But both of em' kinda suck, so it's like, damn what's the point?

Meganium definitely sucks, but Sceptile is great. He's one of the best Subseeders in the game (Substitute + Leech Seed) because of his speed. A little lacking in damage, but he's still pretty great.

I suppose, Substitute, Leech Seed, and Giga Drain would be the way to go with him, and then give him Leftovers as well.

I meant like, look at Venusaur, he's pretty good, but he's weak to Psychic. And Vileplume too. I used a Vileplume when I replayed FR and it kicked some major ass. But the whole training it from an Oddish to give it good moves was a major pain, but was definitely worth it.

No, Giga Drain is awful. Leech Seed and Leftovers recover enough; Sceptile needs damage more than recovery.

Sub/Leech Seed/Leaf Blade/(Probably Hidden Power) is the way to go

Whoa, did they tweak the element-balance in the new generations?
I don't recall poison and ice ever having a relation.

No. Grass is weak against Ice, and is a problem with most grass Pokemon, regardless of whether they have the poison sub-type or not. I see that as a bigger problem than Psychic.

But I do believe Ludicolo circumvents a lot of issues with its Grass/Water typing, and Cradily seems to be able to tank well. Breloom is a good Pokemon even with its weaknesses.

If I didn't use Infernape, I would be using a Breloom, the things are good. Very fast and tough.

When they do make another Pokemon game, I hope they start getting more creative with mixing types, instead of it all being the same.

I don't know if anyone knows this but..

In Pokemon Emerald, you can catch ALOT of the G/S Pokemon in the Safari Zone. Like Snubbul, Houndour, Mareep, check Gamefaqs for all of em. I was playing Emerald to get all the legendaries in an easy way. I was pretty impressed with this though.

Yeah you can get a lot of the Gen 2 Pokes in the second set of Gen 3 games. FireRed and LeafGreen are also good for it, at the Sevii Islands.

Personally though I find the lack of G/S/C pokemon really irritating, so for starters and stuff I just AR them into my copy of Sapphire. I usually breed new ones from the cheated ones once they're in Diamond. For me, the fun isn't about finding the Pokemon, it's about training them up, and planning battle strategies. So as long as I don't use an AR for stats, I dont' feel like it's a bad thing.

Speaking of things I don't find too much fun, I got My Pokemon Ranch, and Hayley really gave me some real crap asking for a fucking HITMONTOP. I had to stop Tyrogue from evolving until level 30 until his Atk and Def balanced out, and that was AFTER a ton of EVing and crap.

Now she just wants easy stuff though so I'm all good. Anyone else have the ranch?

Pssh, CHEATER! I know it'd seem like a big waste of time, but I actually bought Emerald a while back just to get all the Hoenn Pokemon. I'm kinda bummed out that Zangoose isn't it though. When I first had Ruby, I used a Zangoose and it was bitching good.

I dunno, I was excited about the G/S Pokemon. All I have left is fucking Miltank, and it's acting just like a damn Chansey from R/B.

I know you're not too interested, but apparently the only way to get the G/S starters is to get all 200 Pokemon from Hoenn and then Professor Birch gives you 1. Sounds like a rip off to me.

They probally went through all this trouble hiding G/S Pokemon around the games so they wouldn't have to remake it. But it actually was really good, I mean, it was the game that introduced Steel and Dark types. And they're just now barely scratching the surface of making good versions of those. I think when G/S came out there was only 4 of them, now there might be a dozen or a lil over.

For what it's worth I don't cheat to fill out my dex, just to get dudes I want to use to compete.

You can catch Miltank in D/P. Pokeradar south of Solaceon Town, by that tower and the mound where you get Spiritomb.

EDIT: And yeah, Zangoose is awesome. I have one who I never EV trained but turns out he's adamant. Someday I'll get 11 of each EV-reducing Berry and turn him into a monster of a Physical sweeper.

Rumor has it they might remake Gen2. Rumors, yeah, but it could be nice.
I've got a friend who's got Emerald, so could be I'll borrow it after I finally get everything ready for the Elite Four. Once I catch the lake trio, all I'll need for the National Dex is Rival's Snorlax, Aaron's Drapion, and Cynthia's Spiritomb, Garchomp (unless i train Gible up to bring with) and Milotic.

Trainers on Victory Road finally helped me dex the damn Gen1 trade-evolvers (i still want my damn Alakazam Sad), but after that Hotel Dusk kind've had me distracted. Beat that last night, so could be I'll be champion by the time the weekend's over.

I feel like the post-E4 game is more fun than the main game, maybe because you can get all the Pokemon.

I got a shiny Weezing on the GTS. It looks legit (caught at Stark Mountain, level 58). Modest nature. I'm thinking of making a physical wall out of it. Flamethrower, Rest, Explosion, and Sludge Bomb... although I might throw sleep talk in in place of explosion.
