The sheer amount of awesome stuff you can get in HG/SS is amazing. I got an Adamant Flying Pikachu from Yellow Forest and finally a surfing one (docile, so good enough) AND two light orbs. And then I beat Claire and got the extremespeed dratini from her master. I reset till I got a male; I know what my next breeding project is!

Do the Pikachu's with special moves look different from the typical Pikachu's? In Pokemon Snap, the Flying one had balloons on it's back.
I know for a fact that if you port a Surfing Pikachu to Pokemon Battle Revolution (Wii), it'll pull out a surfboard and ride it.
I've yet to test the Flying sort, though.

Oh god, I just discovered Voltorb flip.
Is there a way to "solve" it, or is it just finding ways to minimize your risk?

It's a logic game. The number next to the Voltorbs on each row is how many Voltorbs are on that row. The other number is what the rest of the numbers add up to. Once you play it some knowing that, it's pretty easy to figure out all the possibilities. Winning still takes some luck and skill.

Could anyone help me trade some time tonight or this weekend? My "trade pending box" is getting a little out of hand. XD I just need to trade and trade-back some stuff like Scyther, Kadabra, etc. If you have any rare event Pokemon or gen 3/4 exclusives, I'd love to get them in my dex, but I don't need to keep them.

SO HOW ABOUT THEM NEW POKEYMON BLACK AND WHITE VERSIONS
Small version so as to conserve space. Check it out on Serebii's front page.
I'm considering blacking out EVERY SINGLE DETAIL of this game until it comes out, then doing a blind run of it and possibly making a comic to track my progress.
And, of course, to monitor my reaction to the game. I've never done anything like it before, it could be fun.

Hey, they redid the battle scenes. And (THANK GOD!) they did it without making it all into shitty 3D! Looks like the 5th generation might have some more-detailed Pokémon sprites... maybe they'll finally have battle animations after 4 generations worth of games.
Looks like the outside-of-battle graphics are still pretty much the same mediocre 3D stuff that they slapped onto D/P/Pt/HG/SS, though. Maybe marginally better, but it's hard to tell from low-quality magazine scans. At least it'll probably look better in-game than it does in still screenshots, like D/P/Pt... but I can't understand why they'd make the graphics for the main-series games look like that when they obviously know how to make something better (see Mystery Dungeon and Ranger series.)
And either the picture with them is distorted somehow, or the character sprites are all bobblehead-looking now...
Then again, these are the first screenshots of these games, so it's likely that stuff will look different by the time the games are done.

But what if they let you MOVE THE CAMERA?! That'd be...
Um, I'm not sure actually. They tried that with Final Fantasy III on the DS and it sucked.
Oh, also, the city screenshot has what looks like an angled road. I suspect this means one of several things:
1) The camera-auto-rotates, thereby making everything directly in front of you a straight path
2) You can move in 8 directions
3) It's one of those stupid cop-outs where it looks like you can travel in 8 directions, but it's still just 4, so you end up zig-zagging like a retard.
(It's cool for low-tech people like us, but Nintendo's done this a million times already, even on the DS. Touch screen anyone?)

Does anyone else play this game on Wifi? JSH and I have been for the last couple days, might be fun to get into a 2 vs. 2 match with 4 people. Any takers?
I'd actually really like that. I only just got access to internet play, though, so I only have 3 badges
