I'd like to take a look but haven't had time, especially because you describe it as an experiment and a roguelike. I did notice when it was posted to the gamelist, but must have skipped over without reading the description because there were no screenshots included.
You did say you start out remarkably weak, but it's not clear if this means the beginning of the game is meant to be about avoiding enemies entirely (in which case the balance might be OK)

TMC: You raise a point. I remember that when I was playing my game, I'd often start off by avoiding enemies and scouring around for items, waiting until I got a good haul to start fighting.
I can't help but say I have a soft spot for the way the game's balanced as it is, but if it's counter-intuitive, then it should probably be changed.

I decided to upgrade Vocabulary Mosaic so I could put it on Android.
I was pleased how easy it was to pick it back up and improve it after 5 years.
I also want to say thank you tmc for implementing the feature that saves the slices in the script layer. This is the first time I have actually tried using it in a game, and I am impressed at how smoothly it works. It perfectly restored all the slice handles that I had stored in global variables :)
Vocabulary Mosaic is available on Google Play here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hamsterrepublic.vocabmosaic
I would much appreciate reviews from anyone who is able to play it (especially if you can do a real pass-and-play multiplayer game with a friend)
If anybody wants to play the updated version on their computer, I have the non-android download links here: http://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=116053

I voted for it also!
I noticed some comments asking if it was going to be free or paid? Can you put free games on Steam? I never realized that was an option! :)
On the Hype front, here is a screenshot of what I am working on for the One-Month All-Mouse Left-Click OHRRPGCE Game Contest:

Haven't really decided what I'm going to do about pricing yet, but yes, it is my understanding that you can release them on Steam for free if you want.
James that looks incredible, but what is this bold of lightning you speak of?
