That was the second combination I tried, but it wasn't working for some reason. I tried it again, and it worked.

Figuring out his next form's weakness was even more fun.

Anyway, I love how you need whatever hero you get before fighting the bosses to win, but in a way they need you, too. No man is macho enough to beat his foe solo, he needs help from his bros.
Remeber: God made you special and he loves you very much. Bye!

Village People: The Videogame is up on download.com. Want to do me a big favor? Rate it, leave feedback, however you feel about the game. Any ratings will make people more likely to download it, and I really want more people outside of the OHR community to check it out.

Hey

Guess what

I'm working on the new VP:VG update AS WE SPEAK

I've set up a trophies/achievements style system. Yes, I know that some people hate these in games. Oops!

Some of these will be useless, but some of them will exist primarily as ways to track progress and provide hints as to where to look for hidden areas/sidequests.

Ah, good things indeed.

I should hope that at least half of them would be useless. Otherwise, what's the point of having a trophy system? Obviously, the trick here is to make the trophies (especially the useless ones) as absurd as possible. Like, I think there should be a trophy for talking to ducks so many times, and it should have a crazy name like "Annoying Quackers" or "Duck Whisperer" or something.

And just to repost something I wrote in the "Most Anticipated Games" section for the Game of the Year thread:

Quote:
Surlaw Armageddon and Village People: The Video Game (Complete)

Yes, I’m including both in the same position because I anticipate both equally, but I will be happy with just one complete game this year and the complete other game in 2011. Whichever comes first, I want to play the full versions of both by December 31, 2011. You’ve been challenged, Surlaw.

So, I'm glad to see production on this resuming.

It's been way too long since I've worked on this game. Right now, I'm in the process of adding portraits to text boxes that aren't just battle sprites pasted in.

There's plenty of time to see those macho poses in battle. I mostly changed this because I drew two of them for Who Killed Dinosaur Giant and liked how they looked.

I'm trying to decide whether I should draw them all head-on or if there should be very slightly more variety. I don't know if these mesh well together. I like Leatherman the most.

I like these the best, but I'm going with some of my own choices, Flamberg and Hoodoo Man. I know they're not up to snuff with creativity like Hot Hawaiian Guy, but they'll do.

Our next mission takes us to the Seven Seas. Only with naval power can Police Chief and friends reach the dreaded Fire Island. I'll add more stuff to the dock later. There's a guy here that sells you worms. You'll need some bait to complete one of the game's sidequests.

A new enemy added to the Wild West areas. He appears when you've got more than one VP in your party. He's a Dirtball.

I'm unfortunately going to have to announce that this update isn't going to be done in time for the Heart contest. I really wanted to pull it off, but I've been busy for months and only now am I finding more free time. If by some act of God I get it done in time I'll release the Indian Chief update, but it's not looking likely.

Also, what is the story behind that sleeping walrus there. It looks highly dangerous.

The walrus is totally chill. Everything else in the sea tries to kill you though!

I've been working on redoing a lot of skills in the game so that every character has an Item Skill magic menu. The spells in this menu will come and go based on what items you have equipped. Some add one skill while equipped, some add several. Hopefully this adds a bit of customization to the game. I've also finally forced myself to use the poison register properly and redrew the hospital tiles.
