Yeah, that's what I meant. I think it's possible that he only didn't win because he got unlucky on the damage variance. (I've been wondering lately if I shouldn't trim the variance range, but then I hate being at the whim of the RNG.)

I'm starting to wonder if I don't fight dumber now I have the Dirk.
Also, I've noticed rough Up has the secondary effect of draining health, too.

And it doesn't help that Slimesworth's goons keep Sapping away at MP pools

It'd be more accurate to say it has the primary effect of draining health, plus the secondary effect of lowering Str. Why do you think he uses it so religiously?

Unlike other poison effects, it's percentage-based, meaning he won't use it on targets that are weak enough. I think taking CUSTOM into the battle will prompt him to use something else, for example.

I am of the opinion that the Assassin's Dirk is still way overpowered.

A 1 on 1 where both players have Dirks is almost chanceless. Very little luck is involved, just raw numbers.

A 1 on 1 where one player has a dirk and the other doesn't seems unfair. You really have to be a superstar to survive a dirk without one of your own.

Overall, it is certainly cool but somewhat less fun.

Some nerfs to possibly consider:

* Assassin's dirk could still allow fumbles.
* Instead of guaranteed crits, it could increase crit chance by 2 or 3 times (keeping the current MPC consumption rules in place)
* Make the MP consumption a bit higher

I am definitely not suggesting ALL of those things, but maybe just one of them would be enough to make the dirk less un-fun while still remaining awesome.

I agree that the Dirk is way too good right now.

For now, I'm going to increase the cost. Minimum 2x, more for attacks with higher crit multipliers. We'll see what this does to it.

Because I am a jirk, the Dirk didn't wirk. (It actually had the opposite effect. Whoops.)

I realized this at 1am and couldn't sleep because it was bugging me. Now your crits should be back in order.
