Dang! the self-damage for Assassin's Dirk is HUGE!. 25% of every crit? Definitely not worth it. unless your name is Mogri and you have a billion HP

Thank Slime I still had time to withdraw from all the battles that I accepted with it equipped!

It's 7.5% of your max health currently, though I'm up for other suggestions.

The problem with making it a percentage of damage is that many attacks that can crit don't deal any damage. 7.5% may be a bit high, but I'd rather it start out less useful than broken.

It looked like it took a flat 78 health from you each time it criticaled.
I'm not really sure where this is coming from though.

I can't really see a situation where the extra criticals would help you win the battle any sooner.

If I had to guess, I'd say beating is more likely to net you Final Sludgement than the Slimehold Gavel.

It's both, actually, which has led me to wonder whether it should be the armor instead, as that would actually be a useful drop.

But I guess +10 MP/round isn't bad, either.

Both? Nice.
Of course, I'm guessing you need more than either 191 Str or 72 Agi (if we're lucky it's this one) to use Final Sludgement, looking at a test I just ran, but seeing how susceptible he is to debuffs I might could take him if I had more HP.

I think having it sap MP would be a little more tolerable.
And then it could sap your Health if you didn't have enough MP to feed it.
