Barrage attacks (currently just Brick Bombard?) will no longer target dead opponents. (They were doing so invisibly before, stealing hits that should have been YOURS.)
Brick Bombard is now 30 Power instead of 40 and costs 92 MP again. At 60+ Str and 85 Agi, the expected damage is 266, very close to the expected damage of Dire Wound except dealt all in one turn. For comparison, the expected damage of Sludgehammer Special at 120 Str and 85 Agi is 192. So even with these debuffs, Brick Bombard is the most powerful attack widely available.
These are James's stats I'm using, if you're wondering.
(edit) Whoops, you can't even use Sludgehammer Special at 120 Str. As a side note, Sludgehammer Special is a better attack when your Str is much larger than your Agi. When they are roughly equal or Agi is higher, Brick Bombard is still much more effective.

No, it's more because I honestly can't remember. The mechanic is in place as an effect, so it's portable to other attacks, but I'm pretty sure I never made any others with barrage.
I will at some point, though.

I think it should become a bit more expensive and the duration of the shock should probably be slightly less than it is now. I want the damage to stay the same.
Or in other words, I think it should become more of an attack and less of a debuff.
And not to change the subject, but I think it would be cool to make a buff that gives the target a very short-term but very nice Str boost. I think it would add a strategic element where you would speculate about whether one of your allies is likely to unleash a big attack on their next turn. Sorta like a big brother to Spike Body, but with an emphasis on getting your timing right.

I would prefer that it be a debuff rather than an attack.
So a vote for less damage from me.

I thought that 4 bricks were thrown on average, making the expected damage about 180.
Or is the number of bricks thrown determined by Agility?

Ah, there you'd be wrong for two reasons. First, your average is a little off: you're guaranteed one brick and each of the additional 5 bricks has an independent 70% chance to fire. Second, you're not factoring in critical damage, where Brick Bombard really shines. It's true that the damage is only multiplied by 1.5, but on critical, each brick past the first has an 80% chance to fire.
Expected damage is a tricky thing. I might rebalance this attack later today if I go back and find it costs too much for its current power level.

I've been hitting for about 150-190 with brick bombard, making it worse then bow lover in a team battle, but still kind of good in a 1v1 though I still wouldn't use it on 1v1. Basically the move sucks now. It's only real use is hitting people from many different teams. That's it's only real shiny point.
I've been thinking of reworking it so that you have a 1 / (N+1) chance of missing with Brick Bombard, where N is the number of remaining targets, and then making the attack more powerful again. The idea is that the attack is more useful against more opponents.
For now, though, the cost is again reduced to 82 MP.
What would you like to see out of this attack? I think the "hurt one person" niche is filled pretty nicely.

well I think the hit everyone on every other team thing is pretty good. If you compare it to bow lover then it just isn't as good and cost more, but if your fight were say a 2v2v2 or 1v1v1v1v1 then brick bombard becomes pretty useful, since thats the only time it's not worse then bow lover one would think it should fill the slot a little better.
anyways, if you think the hit 1 person niche is filled just change the attack to hit all enemies 100% of the time. of course I think at that point the attack has become something completely different then it first was, which was an attack that seemed to be based off of fury swipes from pokemon. which if you really wanted to mimic you should have to more easily available and cost less and simply do less damage.
perhaps and optional spread thing could be used. because 100 points of damage is nice but not when it's spread out between 5 different people.
