It's really getting down to the wire now. We all need to swap friend codes sometime soon.

Nope, different friend codes for different games, I think. We'll have to wait on the game to know for sure.

With that said, I want to organize an OHR Community tournament for a week or so after the game comes out. Who's interested?

These are the tentative rules I've come up with:

Organizational rules
- Tournament matchups will be randomized after each round (ie after each matchup has taken place) to prevent monotony.
- Wins are determined by confirmation from both players or a spectator.
- Players who have lost can join matches as spectators
- Entrants will submit their name and the character they are using for the tournament (and an alternate, perhaps) in advance. (Picking a main might be unnecessary, I guess)

Gameplay rules
- All matchups will be 1v1, best of 3. (ie, you have to win two matches against someone).
- The first match's stage will be Random. Then, the loser of the previous round gets to pick.
- All characters, stages and items allowed.
- Items set to "Very Low" or agreed upon between the two players.
- Matches will be 5 stock. (We could play time as well, but it needs to be consistent across every match since strategies are different for each kind of match)
- No handicaps
- All matches played on Standard Brawl (Some characters have huge advantages in, say, Giant mode)

Any suggestions? I was planning on making a thread for it soon, but I want to hear complaints now if possible.

Yes. I would like to complain that I don't have a Wii.

My girlfriend does, but it would be a little awkward going over to her house so that I could play online with other people.

Well, ah, I meant from people who might actually participate. No reason we can't have more tournaments later.

I don't have a wii or a TV, so I'm an extra step behind. It would be cool if another little tournament is scheduled some months after the games' release, once everyone has had a chance to get the game and get used to it, figure out their little tricks, etc. Still, an initial tournament would be cool in its own way, and I definitely think the lucky owners out there should do it.

I'm interested, but I think 1v1 matches would make more sense unless we have a really huge number of people sign up.

Dude, count me in. It'll be really awesome to see who's the OHR-Smash Brothers Champion. Ha. Sounds like a ton of fun.

I would definitely participate. I would hate the "Hall of Evil" as a prize, I would much rather have a moderator imposed tag or something, much like how Moogle1 on Castle Paradox has a tag where he is the Halloween contest winner.

I believe that's what he meant. You can't really add friend codes without the game itself, after all.

That would be dumb. And by the way, I have that too, heh. Him and I both won that.

But anyways, yeah, prizes are kinda dumb for this. This isn't ohr related other than the fact that the contestants are all OHR-ers. Maybe a special SSBB avatar that only the champ can use? Other than that, I wouldn't want to go overboard.

Good news, but unconfirmed. Apparently, if you trade Wii codes, and have WiiConnect 24 turned on, and both players have Brawl, friend codes will automatically be traded between Wii Friends.

The bad news is that you'd have to have WiiConnect 24 on, making your system hot as hell when it's off and risk melting your GPU.
