There's a few things about it that make it a bit harder to work with then the usual 20x20 sprites, but in-action they just look SOOOO much better!BMR wrote:Spiffy!
Enjoying walktall?
The two biggest hurdles are of course keeping track of where overhead tiles are, and having to make sure that part of the sprites don't decide to clip through them. I've also noticed that shops in particular will revert the player's sprite back to the 20x20 version UNLESS the script is run right after exiting the shop. It's a SMALL inconvenience, but nothing especially serious!

Are you... are you converting all of Vikings to use walktall??
That would be exciting and wonderful... but probably rather bad for the default example game being packaged with the engine... but also exciting and wonderful... but also bad.... and wonderful.... and bad...

MMmmmmmmmmmmmaybe in 2016.
The main problem with using WalkTall with Vikings would be converting 251 walkabout sprites over to the larger more detailed character size. It'd be AMAZING to look at, but also time consuming. And then I'd have to go back and change around door sizes, bed positions, and a whole bunch of other things to make them look stylistically similar to their newer bretheren.
The old 200X sprites and tiles especially don't really look as great as my current spritework anyway. At some point it might be possible to go back and revamp the ENTIRE game, but not in the near future.

The other day I made a thread about starting a pixel art book. I have a suspicion that the majority of people wanting to take part are residing in this thread, so if you're in interested in contributing follow this link:
