TMC Appreciation Topic

TMC, your dedication to the engine has made me want to continue to use the OHR to make games as long as I'm making games, which I hope will be forever. I could foresee myself learning how to use something like Unity or Unreal and ditching the OHR for not being as technically powerful. Fortunately, seeing the time you spend on the engine shows me not only that it's worth spending time on, but it shows how much progress a single person can make with enough dedication. You've done huge projects in amazingly short periods of time. I know you always mention getting distracted, but when you sit down and do something, it gets done, and done well, too. I'd say it's good inspiration. Helps me remember that most of the time, when I feel like I can't finish something, it's cause I just haven't put the time in. It's a good reminder not to blame the passage of time on anything or anyone.
Basically, thank you, TMC. I always look forward to hearing what you have to say. I hope that as I get more experienced with computer stuff I can start to contribute and make your job easier (and hopefully even more fun).
Thank you also to Soule X for opening this thread. Quite an important topic indeed.

My pronouns are they/them

I was referring to this thread, actually, and the things I've added (and questions answered) that never get used by anyone. Which is my own fault for not working on more important stuff.Gizmog wrote:Now kiss
I'm keenly aware that one of the chief features of the OHRRPGCE is that it's not too popular, so we can consider everyone's requests and questions. That does make me less willing to step away.
A lot of people have been saying that they want to help, but can't. I think improving the ability to customise the engine with scripting is a possible solution.

Gizmog feverishly wrote:"Uwaaa~!" the new girl cried, the dastardly wind lifting her skirt and carrying her papers to every corner of the room. It was a friendly wind back home, warm in the winter, cool in the summer. The other kids were laughing now. This was a hateful place, she decided. A girl in a fuzzy purple sweater broke from the crowd and came towards her. Oh no. She'd heard about a tradition called a black eye, and hoped she wasn't about to get one.
Much to the new girls surprise, the fuzzy purple girl began picking up the papers! "It's so breezy today! I haven't met you before! I'm Spam Man!" she said handing the neatly organized stack up, her eyes making little pointy up arrow shapes, her mouth low and flat. "Th..thanks!" was the answer she got, in an adorable South Pacific drawl. "I'm oo..." she didn't want to use the name she used back home. She needed a weird name like these foreign devils if she was ever going to fit in. What about Einstein's famous equation? That would be good... but what if they thought she was a nerd? Better to get it wrong.
Making a peace sign, so no one would mistake the sudden burst of enthusiasm for violence (so far so good on the black eye thing) the new girl made an exclamation "Boku wa TMC!" and waited to be loved. A fox watched from the bushes, very very curious. This seemed like an anime. Can't animals talk in animes? The fox thought he would like to talk. He opened his mouth and cleared his throat, but no words came out. Oh bother. Best stay hidden in the bushes then. People get mad at foxes at school, especially when they don't have anything to say.

Also, I think we've accidentally found Giz's calling.

To friends long gone, and those I've yet to meet - thank you.
It can't be Charbile, everyone knows Charbile has no idea when to keep his mouth closed. Sorry if anyone's offended, by the way, but I think it's important we all appreciate TMC in our own way.Fenrir-Lunaris wrote:..Charbile?Gizmog wrote:A fox watched from the bushes, very very curious.
