Your Vote Might Matter: Which Hero to Use?

I'm making a game right now that uses some of my old character sprites. Heroes so far:

Protagonist
Warrior-prince
Swordcerer
Peacekeeping robot

Now comes the community's first chance to influence the game:


Voice opinions and reasons for whether one of these or the other should be able to join the party. Or, if you don't want to say anything, just check one of the options in the poll.

I think we have our winning argument here. Also I can think of a lot more ways to make Shoop Man's moveset distinct and interesting from the other heroes I'm using than I can for the kid, charming as his sprite seems to be to the furry crowd.

Speaking of furries, here are our next three contenders:
The wolf-man and aspiring artist who dreams of one day getting married but is too shy to approach the fair ladies.
The American teenager absolutely in love with Japanimation, legitimately skilled at both ninjitsu and ki attacks.
The pirate who wants nothing more than to get things without paying for them; they don't even have to be good things.

Until I can edit the poll, you'll have to hash your arguments out with your words on these guys.

My bet is the pirate, but come on! YOu know there's one of 'em you like more than the others. You know there's one who fits into the story you want to tell. Be brave and own up to it, choose that one. Nobody likes it when people only tell them what they want to hear.

This is Toast Man, one of the eight Robosses who give Shoop Man new special attacks upon defeat.

He grants the Toast Buster, a ranged attack which hits twice because the toaster has two slots. Its damage and accuracy are slightly better than Shoop Man's standard shots.

I'm baiting for ideas and suggestions to fill out the other seven slots.
