Castle Amber: A D&D Adventure

This looks like a very bad thing to Galse, but since Kalar is okay with it he's gonna let it go a bit longer. If things get out of hand, he is perfectly willing to sap literally everyone in the room. Including himself!

The door opens and Thistlewhistle steps inside. The bull thrashes it's head, animating at if it was a real bull and not a mass of clovers. "It's simple, I just have to burn it," says the sleeping Thistlewhistle.

Tammytharn and Lynda didn't follow, deciding to look after Gontort. That is, until he sprang awake! "We have to go help!" He screamed and ran off in Thistlewhistle's direction. Tammytharn and Lynda had little to stay in the room for after that.

This is dangerous, no telling what might happen, and the entire party is scattered.

Kalar steps in and stops the gnome. "Hold, friend. What do you believe will happen once you set it on fire?"

The bull smashes against Kalar and Thistlewhistle, knocking them to the floor. Thistlewhistle gets up at an unworldly speed. "Burn!" He says and smacks the bull with the torch. Then the bull tosses Thistlewhistle into the corner of the room. Thistlewhistle doesn't get up. The bull burns and is qucikly engulfed. A blinding light emits form the bull and a magical effect bursts outward in all directions. The bull is no longer covered in clovers but is instead made of solid amber. It bends down and scratches it's feet looking ready to charge.

Lynda sees that her dress has changed to an amber color after the burst of light. Gontort rounds the corner to be in view of Kalar, Rachelle, and Galse.
Kalar takes 11 dmg. (before dmg reduction)

"Crap on a biscuit, that hurt!"

Kalar holds his tower shield at ready, bracing for impact. He doubts that his claws will be able to damage the thing, but he'll try should it come close enough.

AC: 27
HP: 50/73
Weapon: Claws (+2 1d4+2)

Galse has no idea what the hell is going on, but will stand firm and hope that Gontort's contribution is as useful as the Halflings, defending himself if it proves necessary!

Rachelle rushes to the bull, willing herself into a rage as she swings her halberd at it. While unsure why a bull made of amber is 1) attacking them and 2) needed to be attacked in the first place, she puts aside such questions for the time being.

Rachelle sinks her halberd into the bull. A small chunk flies off. Then the bull charges forward. Rachelle and Kalar are tossed to the side.

Kalar takes 5 dmg (before dr)
Rachelle takes 8 dmg

Rachelle deals 13 dmg (before dr)

Galse is now attacking. "Next time I'm just gonna knock him out! Jeez!"

"Hrulgin! Go get Tammy! We need a healer in here!"

Kalar drops his guard temporarily, attacking with his claws in an attempt to prevent the bull from attacking Rachelle.

Kalar will not use combat expertise in this round.
To-Hit: +6
AC: 23

Next Round

Kalar will fight on the defensive, trying to draw all the attacks of the bull so that Galse and Rachelle can attack it more effectively.

If the others try to lure the bull away, Kalar will go with this plan.

Kalar will always use Combat Expertise. Should his health fall below half, he will also use Fighting Defensively for an additional 2 AC and a -4 To-Hit.

As long as the bull is in the area near the Gate, he will position himself between the bull and Thistlewhistle in order to defend the gnome.

Tammytharn follows Gontort. When she reaches the battle she will cast Summon Monster III to try and bring a pack of Celestial Dogs to harry the bull, and then she will cure the injured, starting with the already-converted cure spell slots

Lynda notices her dresses magical change. She doesn't mind though. The amber color of her dress compliments her quite well, matching with her scarf and hair. Perhaps this color change has some sort of symbolic meaning...

Oh, right, giant amber bull on a rampage.

Lynda keeps her distance, firing arrows at the monstrosity.

Seeing now that there are more party members around than he had originally thought, Kalar decides to not attack the bull for now, and instead begins calling out to his comrades, inspiring them to greater feats of prowess.

Allies receive +2 morale bonus on saving throws, attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls

Hrulgin attacked with his claws but wasn't able to damage the amber bull.

Kalar bang to chant. The party, hearing his chant, was reminded of the past fights. The brain collector, the great worm, both of these seemed impossible but they had defeated them. They thought, no, they knew this bull would be no different.

The bull gored Galse. It's horns tearing across Galse's chest. Galse responds with a wicked his with his magic staff. The staff connects with a solid hit. A small spiderweb of cracks appear where the hit connected. Galse followed that up with another hit in the same spot. Small chips of amber sprang from the spot as Galse smash into the bull. Then the bull turned and faced the other way.

Lynda's arrows smashed into the bull but none of then stuck in. A chip here and there fell from the arrow hits. Tammytharn cast a summoning while Lynda's arrows flew.

Gontort and Rachelle both charged in and slashed at the bull. Both of their hits taking large chunks out of the bull.

Then the bull dug it's left hoof into the ground and started to glow. It angled it's horns down and pointed them in the direction of Gontort, Lynda, and Tammytharn.
Tammytharn's summoned dogs appeared. She managed to summon 5 of them. They scattered around the battleground.

Galse takes 11 dmg.

Lynda deals 2 dmg (after DR)
Galse deals 6 dmg (after DR)
Gontort deals 8 dmg (after DR)
Rachelle deals 11 dmg (after DR)

PAIN!!! It's been too long since Galse has felt this! The spider web cracks are encouraging, doubly so since the dread-beast no longer is facing his direction! "Bash it! Bash it to pieces! Try to knock one of his legs off!" he snarls into the melee!
