OHR games you wish had been finished?
There were a couple I really wanted to see completed were Mario Potty and Wandering Hamster. Mario Potty is definitely not going to be completed, and I'm starting to have my doubts about Wandering Hamster since I've waited 10 years and from my understanding it still ends with him in the whale.

Did not realize who you were, lol. Please don't end it there, though. I'd like to see it go on forever. I used to play for hours when I was a kid. I just downloaded the latest version of it.Been playing different OHR games I used to play for some inspiration on a game I'm working on. Was a bit shocked when I saw your character lost his cowboy hat.Bob the Hamster wrote:It ends right after Bob gets out of the <s>whale</s> snake. I'll update it, I just can't promise when

Nope. Bell of Chaos is officially cancelled in favor of Vorpal Florist (which actually contains a fair amount of copy-and-pasted BoC plotscripts)TMC wrote:That could take a while! Were you planning to resume Bell of Chaos too?
Only two projects are in line ahead of Wandering Hamster. Vorpal Florist (40%), and Dirt Dig (85%)

Oh, that's too bad. Bell of Chaos' Persian graphical style and mechanics were really unique and wonderful (and noisy).
So that's my answer to this thread's question

I was wanting to port it for a while, but only this weekend did I finally have the brainstorm of how to do the gamepad input for typing the numbers.Spoonweaver wrote:Speaking of Bob projects, I was surprised to see your math game on Ouya. When did that make it on there?
That reminds me! I updated the OUYA port so that it can work on Madcatz Mojo consoles too. I can re-build the apk of Tim-Tim for you if you want to re-upload it to the OUYA store and enable the other console.
Haha! Well, maybe I can say that rather than being cancelled, it has just been given a lower priority than Wandering Hamster ;)TMC wrote:Oh, that's too bad. Bell of Chaos' Persian graphical style and mechanics were really unique and wonderful (and noisy).

To answer the question posted as the original topic, a small list of games I would've liked to see finished versions for include--
Games that will never be finished unless the authors have a sudden change of heart (or reappearance):
-Lolsidothaldremobine (my favorite for a long time)
-Monterey Penguin (finished and given a modern retrofit with sound effects, proper overhead tiles, etc.)
-Memoria (I care about this mainly to see where else it could go; I don't actually need to see a finished version.)
-Halloween Quest 3 (I had an opportunity to playtest this game, and I had a great time playing it. RMZ has placed his focus into other projects, however, and he doesn't seem eager to restart production on it. Too bad.
It's fun.)
-Surlaw Armageddon (I think The Wobbler had a sensible canonical reason for canceling this one, but it's one I still wished had a proper ending.)
Games that are still in production:
-Wandering Hamster (Does this really need an explanation?)
-Vikings of Midgard (And to think this was supposed to be a Newbie-pack game showing off the engine's features...)
-Legendary Heroes (A guilty pleasure more than anything)
-Village People: The Video Gane (I guess the Wobbler is extremely busy these days...)
Games that I hope are still in production, but have my doubts:
-Saminaster and Sorcery (Had an opportunity to playtest this a few years ago and thought it was one of the coolest and most ambitious games to come onto the horizon.)
-Viridia (After a poorly received Chapter 2 release, the author got derailed, and now he's MIA.)
Games that are in production and due for release soon:
-Okedoke! La Leyenda Mexicana (I actually just playtested the full version and finished it over the weekend--very polished design with an over-the-top ending.)
-Mr. Triangle's Maze and Mr. Triangle's Mediocre Adventure (I'm told both are due for release this year.)
My own games:
Well...all of them. :p But my immediate priorities are--
-Entrepreneur: The Beginning (active production)
-The Adventures of Powerstick Man: Extended Edition (active production)
-The game with a title I have yet to publicly reveal, but info on it can be found in the thread "My Latest Distraction" (stalled until I can figure out a sensible way to implement pathfinding)
-Tightfloss Maiden (backburner, but planning to restart soonish)
-Monster out of Six (stalled due to lack of map design inspiration)
-At the Risk of Manipulation (backburner, but picking at it from time to time)
Everything else of mine hasn't been touched in at least 10 years, so those are all on hold until I can knock some of these other games out.

I'd love to finish Village People but of all the stuff I've worked on, that's the one most likely to get me a cease and desist, since even the Let's Play videos people did got taken down on copyright claims. I'm honestly shocked they're more protective of the IP than most. I still 100% love the idea, but I need to get rich and get the rights legally first, so it's probably not going to get finished.
I've got another big (to me anyway, not Village People big) project in the works that I actually DID negotiate legal rights to, but I'm not ready to start promoting it.

I don't remember most of those, but I loved Monterey Penguin, though I'd rather see it finished as is instead of new graphics, etc. just because nostalgia. At the very least leave the music as is.Pepsi Ranger wrote:To answer the question posted as the original topic, a small list of games I would've liked to see finished versions for include--

Powerstick Man! Seriously, if this game ever gets done, it will be competition for OHR's greatest masterpiece. That's not just hyperbole either.
Which reminds me, I need to get back to bug testing it... Pepsi, I'm really going to try to play this week. I've just be slammed with other projects.
It's also awesome that Oke Doke and Cataclysm will be finished this summer. I'm really looking forward to playing them. I haven't played an OHR game that has felt like a complete and satisfying experience since Spellshard.

You should play DUNGEONMEN: Men of Dungeons if you haven't already.Willy Elektrix wrote:It's also awesome that Oke Doke and Cataclysm will be finished this summer.
