Since I've begun listening to music from SNES and N64 games I've noticed that a large amount of the samples used for their music have been sourced from Roland synthesizers.
Mario Kart 64 - Hidden Music - The piano chords are a Roland piano, no doubt; I don't know about the other parts, but they probably are, too.
Jet Force Gemini - Water Ruin - More Roland piano. The harp is also a Roland sound.
Super Mario RPG - Happy Adventure, Delightful Adventure - The drums, the xylophone, and the bass. And probably the strings, but I myself can't tell.
If you can find any other instances of Roland sounds in Nintendo games, write it here and I'll put it on the list.
Interesting observation of Nintendo game music
