Iblis nailed it. It just looks like there is SO much wasted space on the sides and the review, which some are quite lengthy will take up more room. It just seems it'd make more sense all around to make them centered and use the whole page, rather than the left corner.

Also, if you are going to improve the reviews, maybe you could take it a step furthur, and make text wraps around images so we could make each review a bit creative instead of seeing the same format.

Like say someone wants to put a screenshot with the graphics section to show the reader an example of em as they're talking. It would flow better, like how all the reviews are in Hamster Speak. Simple, but effective.

The center where? You can't just stick it in the middle of a block of text at random.

The images are because I started replacing them and got distracted. Which set do you prefer?

Since all of the text is forum based, make it be set up exactly like how a regular post is. And let the reviewer format it like a post. It just looks really bad the way it currently is. But the HS format is best in my opinion.

Perhaps something like this:

However, I'm going to have to agree on the text-wrap looking really bad.

That design is what I was referring to. I just wanted to optimize the maximum amount of space and not waste any area ya know. I mean, I know the thing can scroll for forever, but it just looks bad when all the text is flush to the left.

The smaller, golden stars look a lot nicer than the big, colorful ones.

Here are the real issues with the images:
- You can have an arbitrary number of images. You can have a LOT of them.
- The images need to go somewhere, not anywhere. In other words, somewhere specific, and I promise you that it will look way worse if I just stick them in wherever.
- The images can have captions. This isn't a major consideration, but it prevents me from just using <img align="right"> (I think that's the right tag).

If anyone can come up with a solution that satisfies all of these conditions, I can implement it.

Well... if you can make it the nicer way we've been discussing, I'd go for an image at the top, middle, and end and allow captions for em. Or if not at the exact top or bottom. Like...

essentially two text boxes...

I'm starting to understand what you're saying now though.

I had nothing but gold stars last night, and I don't know what the hell the ftp thinks it's doing.

EDIT: That was not my artistic vision, Moogle :gonk:

But seriously, if the consensus falls onto multicolored stars, I will make multicolored small ones.

Haha, okay. I think your original stars look better anyway.

Really disagree with Red. I like that the images are all to one side. Placing them in between sections of text like in HS feels jarring to me. Yes, they can be used to show direct examples from the section of the text, but the amount of wasted space around them is silly. It's not perfect, but if you really want to tool around with a fun format, why not save your reviews for HS, Red? I'm sure Surlaw would be happy to get them.

Fortis, you're trying too hard! The answer to making the review "stars" look better is staring you right in the face! Slimes! Colored slimes would suit it so much better! :D
To friends long gone, and those I've yet to meet - thank you.

My original idea for a perfect average was 5 stars with :D faces

I guess that's what I'll have to do then.

I think it's kind of a thing that the last file attached appears at the top. It trips you up a bit, having to place them in reverse order. I know it's probably asking a bit much, but if there were a way of making a priority list in the post that you could move an attachment up or down on, that would be perfect.
