Help Please
Help please, how do I get this flashing thunder bolt to appear behind the bush? Also, either I'm missing something or I'm just blind, but I can't figure out how to allow the player to walk behind the bush without them being able to walk on/through it.

Hello,
Is the bush an NPC or a Tile?
If it's a tile you can use layers.
This is a wiki article about layers. http://rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/Layer
Edit: I just saw this artikles does to really say what a layer is.
A layer is like a tranparent piece of glas with where something has been drwn onto. You can pile up layers and look throug them, depensing on their order, some images are shon in front of others.
If it's an NPC there is an option to place two npcs on the same spot:

By the way, are you are new to the OHR?

I hope that helps. If you need more help, feel free to ask.It IS possible to put two NPCs on the same spot, though. Put one down with the spacebar and then another one on top of that one with CTRL+arrow keys (depending on which direction you want it facing.)
By the way, are you are new to the OHR?

You change layers in the map editor mode by pressing page up and page down. If you go to the "layers and tilesets" section of the map, you can add, remove, and move layers into different order by holding shift and using the arrows keys.
You will want the bush graphic to be on a layer BELOW the hero. the layers and tilesets menu will show you how your layers stack in relation to the hero layer. Simply SHIFT+arrow the bush layer below the hero and you will be just fine.

Then first of all: Welcome to the OHR!
The layer number does not matter, you can always add layers later, so it rather depend on how many layers you need.
I'd suggest to start with two.
One for the ground on one for ontop of the hero/npcs.
You can toggle layers in the draw tilemap menu, then pressing page up/down. but before that you need to add layers in the layer menu, using the +key and chooseing a tileset. You can then order the layers by pressing shift and using arrowkeys.
In your case the layer where the bush is places on needs to be above the npc layer.
By the way, there is a helpfile with more usefull infomation, if you press F1.

Haha I'm only familiar with the first 100 or so Pokemon, so I had to look up what a 'lotad' was. I have to admit it does look like a cross breed of bulbsaur and lotad lol
It is actually based off a tomato frog, and well since frogs and lily pads always seem to go together, I put a lily pad on top of him. He was originally red, but I thought blue just looked better so I changed it.

It hasn't been ultra worth it beyond that (though the remake of Gold/Silver is really REALLY good), but the new X and Y version they're coming out with seems to be really cool so far. I sorta want a 3DS even more so because of the game. It's FINALLY in 3D, graphically. I've been wanting 3D battles in a main game since Stadium, and it's finally happening. Not to mention, they're adding a new type for the first time since G/S/C, and they're adding different style random battles, which sound zany. Apparently you can have 5 wild pokemon gang up on your one, zounds!SparElric wrote:I gave up after Gold/Silver/Crystal. I'll likely be trying to get Y version. I like the letter Y.
