The deadline for HOHR is approaching. Would anyone be interested writing music for my game? You play a spaceship captain trying to make a buck in a lawless sector of deep space. It has a very classic feel. I would need 5 pieces. 1 for the title/ending, 1 for the world map, and 3 for battles.
I want original music that has not appeared in any other game. Something strange and atmospheric is good. I would encourage the composer to be as creative as possible and really challenge themselves. It doesn't even have to sound like music if you don't want. Go crazy.
If anyone is interested in taking a crack at it, send me some of your previous work and I'll send you a copy of the game in progress so you can get a feel for it. MP3 format is the best.

I'm not thinking the Master K is wanting to discourage, persay, as much as he's more of encouraging to use music already out....if you know what I mean.
I don't say that you shouldn't get original musics for your game, but what I'm thinking master k is saying, is that it will be a lot more difficult to come up with.
I, for one, am making original musics (along with a friend who's actually good at it) for my game, AR-PUH-GUH!, but I tell you what, it's a hard process. But that's not to say we don't have place-holder musics for spots, cuz I do.
...I feel like I'm sending mixed messages, so I'ma just stop talking.
However, if you want to experiment, you can always try out this: http://midi.brels.net/
