I posted this over in Castle Paradox, and I really need an answer.
I will quote exactly as I said it:
Alright, this may be impossible (I am hoping it's not)
most professional games have a method of recording play time and
then allowing the player to view this in the menu.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to implement this??"

Use hours of play, minutes of play, and seconds of play.
You can also read/write globals to keep these going over multiple save files (For use in New Game+ for instance, or maybe in tracking the time of multiple saves like in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep)
