Seneschal Ileran brings forth a medallion set with an amethyst from beneath his robes. The amethyst is
huge, easily the size of a grown man's fist.
Appraise (1d20 + Ranks + INT)
- Akbar: 20 + 0 + -1 = 19 Success
Beardthar: 14 + 0 + 1 + 2 = 17 Success
Peanut: 19 + 0 + 2 = 21 Success
Spittle: 10 + 0 + 1 = 11 Fail
Tim-Tim: 7 + 0 + 1 = 8 Fail
From the looks of the medallion and the ornate gold that the amethyst is set in, you doubt the medallion would fetch anything less than 6,000 gold pieces. The fact that it's magical could easily treble the price.
He holds it in his hand and it begins to glow. At the same time, the gem in your rod begins to glow a deep, vibrant purple. There is also a faint humming noise, like a bee's wings only much,
much deeper, that grows louder with each passing moment. Soon, it's easily audible throughout the hall. It's not loud, but anyone in the area would be easily able to hear it. The glow as well, provides roughly the same amount of illumination as a bright torch.
