Really I do, cause reading shakeyair's tutorials just now inspired me to write this wiki sub-article about.. basically the priority to give different elements you can put into an image (eg design, lighting, texture..). It needs plenty of pictures to break up the text; aside from that I'm quite happy with it as a guide to effectively prioritizing as you make art.

This has given me some perspective. Prior, I was always thinking 'Better, more colorful, and just plain awesome'. But, this has shown me that I don't need to make everything as pretty or realistic as possible, I only need to do what is necessary for what I am working on, then build up from that as I see fit.

On a more serious note, one of the best (imo) pixel tutorials out there to get you started is <a href="http://www.yarrninja.com/pixeltutorial/">Tsugumo's</a>. It's definitely not the be-all end-all, and some might not find it quite as useful, but I like it. I learned a great deal from it when I was starting out with pixel art and stuff.

Indeedy. I remember back when I was just starting with pixel stuff, I'd go over the grass section over and over again, trying to learn more from it. Even now, going back over his tutorial isn't a bad idea. Last time I went over it (after having learned some more) I learned some newer stuff that I wouldn't have been able to pick up with the zero knowledge I had when starting out.
