Gentlemen.

Post by Blue Train »

I'm sorry for deserting everyone like that. I've been really busy lately, but I think it's safe to say I'm back, at least for alittle bit.

Have you guys started any collabs yet?

Popping my head in again.

Anyone feel up for trying to make something collaberative again? I think I can commit some time now that I'm out of school for the summer.

I'm out of school for the next month and a half, so I can commit for that long. 'Course, it'd be once a week that I get on again, so I can't promise fast results. :zombie:

We should try to do a colab on something that exists, like turning a book into a game or something. That way, we don't have any problems with the storyline.

A fan game or a re-make. Something that we don't have to think too severely about to make.

Off the top of my head...

Metal Gear Solid OHR (would probably require a bunch of scripting).
The Three Musketeers OHR (the actual unabridged version is great).

Yeah I can only think of two right now.

Kingdom Hearts, Wheel of Time.

I've never played MGS, but I'd be up to the challenge of scripting. As for the Three Musketeers, never read it, either.

I'm not exactly sure if I'd be up for just OHRifiying a game that already exists. I'm really into the storytelling aspect of making a game these days.

Maybe we should all just suggest themes, and work it together until we have a basic story line that we are all happy with?

Guys, don't focus so much on plot. It's really killing the process.

In order to effectively do a colab, we'd each need to take a part of the game and do it.

Someone for graphics, someone for writing, someone for mapping, someone for stats/items/etc., someone for general scripting(when needed), someone for music, and someone to do the other odd jobs

That's about it.

Whoever we choose to do the writing, should already be started and should just give us his general plot. We can each give our 2 cents about small things in the plot, but 1 person needs to be the writer. After that the graphics guy should quickly get to work, with the odd jobs guy helping him out. The other jobs can all be assigned later. So I'll make a couple new threads for electing our writer and our graphics artist.

Also, I think contact is obviously really important for this to work out smoothly. Maybe a regular once a week meeting on some kinda chat thing?

Who here has MSN messenger? or anything of that sort.
