I expected to see some goblins by now. Aren't they smart enough to have guards?
(( Is yellow good? My original choice of orange is rather blinding in small font and brown looks too much like Peanut's color, which very well may be brown, but I think it's red. O and do we really have to use the double parenthesis and the OCC thing? or are the double parenthesis, like I've been doing just fine?))

"COME OUT AND FIGHT YOU COWARDLY GOBLINS!"
Ferumbras continues into the tower, halberd at the ready. Expecting, any second now, to be attacked by goblins. He doesn't stop to examine anything along the way, expecting to have plenty of time to explore after the deed has been done.
I expected more action inside then out.

Aisling moves a bit further into the room.
Faint remnants of evil auras are present around the room, but nothing solid enough to follow.
Ferumbras also moves further into the room.
Peanut examines the tracks (Survival 1d20+8: 16+8 = 24)and realizes that these belong to a medium-sized snakelike creature.
They're not clear enough to identify the creature outright.
However, you are now able to track the trail and follow it to its source.
Beardthar sees no more of the outdated room than anyone else.

Peanut paces over the marks on the floor, rubbing his chin with his dog following in his circles, before darting his gaze over to the other party members as they loudly dart into the room, "Hold up, guys!" He darts back up to them but is still a few feet behind, "I don't think these 'survivors' are exactly, uh... Dwarven, human, halfling, elven, orc, or gnomish!" he exclaims, as hushed as possible.
He then points to the ground, stomping his foot a bit to get tall people to look down at him, "We can follow the marks as a trail, no need for yelling, right?"
Peanut moves a tile behind Aisling and Ferumbras. The dog follows behind Peanut.

"Ghouls and Giant Snakes! By My Grandmother's Beard, I say the goblins will likely be glad to see us, if they are even still alive."
"Seems that the situation is messier than what the Green Wheel guild led us to believe.... Who negotiated this job for us?"
And how much compensation were we promised?

Beardthar drops Rock-Head on the floor, and brushes the wet sand out of his beard.
"My point in asking, to whit; Do we have to kill the goblins in order to get payed by the Green Wheel? Do we still get payed if someone or something else kills them first? Our main goal is just to relight the Tower's beacon and remove any threat that would stop the lighthouse-keepers from returning, correct?"
