Started up a second LP, this time with more preparation (and a better game):

This is a great follow up to Duck & MJ because Duck & MJ was "how not to do game design" then Query 1 hits you with an actual good game to learn from.

Heh. There are some design issues in this game too, but it's definitely more fun to play.

Here's part 3:

"Why is my dad in cahoots with... This woman!?"

And thus, JSH's childhood is ruined forever.

I laughed at the backdrops right before JSH did, like we were in the same room and he was following alongside me.

RE: Barter system. This is something you're more likely to see in an MMO, I think (or at least user based bartering in those games). Most RPGs opt for item making or combining instead.

Yeah, I don't play a lot of WRPGs or MMOs, but I imagine trading is more common in those. More trouble than its worth a lot of the time IMO.

I like the layout of that dungeon, but I agree that the use of overhead tiles doesn't work too well, especially if you're an OHR player and are used to tiles like that being walled off.

Heh, looks like interest died down on this board. Well, I have finished the Query LP (taking a break from OHR ones right now, but I've started planning another). You can see all of it here:

I'm also in the process of working on an LP of a FFT hack called LFT, which is viewable here:
