Mighty slime that's a lot of cool new features! Now I kind've wish I were making a game so I could play around with them. I can think of so many times I would've loved the "don't flinch when hit" bitsets back in the day, and transmogrifying enemies sounds so rad! Does it change their HP when you do that? Is there a way you can maintain it, for things like a Frog status effect? (i once faked a Circe summon that could turn enemies into a random number of swine, but HP was one of the big issues i ran into with it)
good work guys

James (and all who worked on it), I love you. The new Directx backend has forever fixed my problems with putting game or custom into full screen and the colors messing up.
Now, I can just drag and adjust the screen and all is well in the world. This is a problem I have had for years with the OHRRPGCE and it is finally fixed.
I love you

I second that. Quite the update here. Biggest thing I like is the extended characters for tags. That drove me nuts before. Oh, and the new enemy kill sequences. And the exporting walkabout graphics. And the additional map layers. And the etc...

Couple things I noticed since I downloaded it.
F12 doesn't work as a screenshot generator anymore.
And the other thing is kinda minor, but the "Exit" section of the custom.exe main menu isn't visible, even though the cursor goes down to it if you select it.
F12 was the bigger deal for me.
And, when do we get the lock hero by party placement thing? Cause that would be sweeeeeet.

This may be a known issue (or it may not be an issue at all), but I've noticed that if you hold down enter on a restorative item that it will potentially use every one that you have. This may have always been the case, but it would be nice to automatically stop the use of the item if it's not necessary (outside of battle, of course). If someone is retarded enough to use it inside battle, then I think it should be spent anyways.
Just thought I'd share that

That reminds me...
In some of the nightlies leading up to Ypsiliform, and in Ypsiliform itself, the box with the heroes' HP/MP/etc. disappears for half a second after you use one healing item outside of battle, then reappears again.
Not a major bug or anything, but it is kind of annoying, and it didn't do this until very recently (it used to keep the box on the screen until you either ran out of items or pushed ALT to close the box, with no split-second flickering between item uses.)

The ability to hold down the key and use multiple items has always been there, and is intentional. But I should slow down the key-repeat.
As for the flicker when using healing items outside of battle, that one is a side effect of a rewrite of the out-of-battle targeting code. It was super messy and bug-prone, now it is nice and clean... but has that flicker :)
I'll probably be able to get rid of the flicker without too much trouble, but it didn't seem important enough to stress about at the time.
