Just posting to say that the new enemy dissolve animations are FANTASTIC. Melt has some decidedly creepy/fabulous applications involving pretty much any slime-type creature.

To friends long gone, and those I've yet to meet - thank you.

I actually didn't think this would be a big deal, but looking at the animations now it's really hard to go back to the older ones.
I also notice that setting the death animation to 1 tick will instantly remove the enemy, good for fake battlescripting. 99 is awesome for boss deaths.

we are calling the next one "Ypsiliform". I want to save the Yggdrasil name for the release when Fenrir finishes Vikings of Midgard.
I would say that we are only a few weeks away from a stable release. It does depend on TMC, because he really wants to add a fourth map layer before release.
Our only remaining really nasty bug is the Vista Midi crasher, and I am hoping SDL_mixer 1.2.9 will fix that.

Since you guys aren't cutting any corners, neither am I!James Paige wrote:we are calling the next one "Ypsiliform". I want to save the Yggdrasil name for the release when Fenrir finishes Vikings of Midgard.
Just remember Windows 7 hits shelves on Thursday. Perhaps it would be wise to ensure that it works with that as well?James Paige wrote:Our only remaining really nasty bug is the Vista Midi crasher, and I am hoping SDL_mixer 1.2.9 will fix that.
Also, any confirmation on hero sprites vanishing during their "dead" frame on the 10/18/2009 nightly?

Ack! I had no idea that was happening! Thank you for mentioning it. Filed in bugzillaFenrir-Lunaris wrote:Also, any confirmation on hero sprites vanishing during their "dead" frame on the 10/18/2009 nightly?
As for Windows 7, I don't have a copy of the beta, but maybe somebody who does can do some testing.
