Have you ever seen a UFO?
I was reading about the surprisingly large number of UFO sightings in Texas this month, and that reminded me of a conversation with a friend of mine a few months back, in which he described several UFO sightings that he had personally had right here (where I live) in San Pedro. I had heard mountains of speculation about UFO's but that was the first time I had actually directly spoken to someone who claimed to have experienced a UFO (serveral of them in fact) personally
I read in an article today that something like 10% of Americans claim to have seen UFOs.
So. Has anybody here seen one? Care to describe your experiences?
I have never seen anything paranormal myself, but I am highly curious.

No I haven't, but the mention of paranormal has prompted me to open up THIS thread:

Would he be willing to share a more detailed description of it? When, and where, and such?msw188 wrote:My father claims to have seen a UFO (dancing light in the sky), but I never have. There's still so much we don't really know about outer space, and just guess about (although we do know a lot, don't get me wrong).
There aren't too many details to give, sadly. It was sometime in the 70s, around the PA/OH border if I remember right (I haven't heard him tell the story for some time now). Sleeping out under the stars in a small campground pretty far from any light pollution, he says he saw a small light in the sky like a distant planet, but slowly moving like a plane. Then, the light did some kind of wierd back and forth thing, and zoomed out and away...?

There I was, sittin on the front porch writin my reviews minding my own business when there it was! Plain as the nose in front of your face, bright as the sun shinin on Sunday mornin, it was UFO! I reached for my camera, but the films was already exposed, wouldn't be gettin no evidence today no sir. I looked closer, and I saw one of 'em lookin down. He knew my camera was busted and knew nobody'd believe me! He looked just like this:
He was laughin at me too! Laughin at me and my broken camera. Well, I wasn't gonna take to that. I got out my pocket knife and I threw it up in the air... only it broke too! He's still there, still there laughin!
Anyone got any advice on how to get rid of this damned laughin aliens?!

I really want to believe that extraterrestrials visit earth in UFOs. The sheer quantity of sightings is somewhat compelling, even if the lack of tangible evidence is daunting.
I think mass sightings such as the Phoenix Lights are really interesting though.

Well one time way back during my final year of highschool my friend and I were heading over to his parents house in his truck. When we were heading down the street we saw a very large green fireball (what I'd assume a meteorite looks like as it's burning up in the atmosphere) fly over us at an extremely high speed and disappear in to the distance. It flew over us from back to front so we got to see it fly off in to the distance. It appeared to be pretty high in altitude, likely higher than a jet would be. It had a pretty linear trajectory which leads me to conclude that it was probably a meteorite. At the time though it scared the slime out of both of us. It was intriguing though too. Since we were near the edge of the city and it was still decently light out we sped out of the city in it's direction. After traveling out a bit and not seeing anything in the fields we just gave up and figured it was travelling so fast it must have landed much farther out.
Also on one other occasion I was trying to sleep and was looking out my window at the sky. I saw what at first seemed to be a typical shooting star but then it stopped dead in it's path waited a split second and took off in a different direction. I was pretty tired so I'm skeptical about what I actually saw but either way it frightened me. I remember just staring out for a few minutes more to see if anything else would happen then I flipped over and buried my head in to the pillow somewhat in fear and went to bed facedown (I normally sleep faceup or on my side).
That's my only somewhat alien experiences. I'm still skeptical that either were aliens but it does seem logical to me that other lifeforms should exist elsewhere.

It was this week. I was returning home with my wife and as soon as we stoped in front of our house my wife looked to the sky, a few seconds later she asked "Where is the plane that was up there?". I paused for a minute, the sky was cloudy, I looked in the sky and I saw nothing. In the moment I was going to say that it was nothing, there it was! I saw a Red ligth flashing in the clouds. it then flashed back to white and flashed red a little ahead, then when it flashed white again it just ziped upwards!
My mind has been blown that day!

Well that sounds pretty legit, especially since you had another person there witnessing it with you.

5 UFO Sightings That Even Non-Crazy People Find Creepy
I see stuff int he sky all the time, but with an air force base and 2 airports very nearby, it's hard to call anything a ufo.

Interesting you should ask, throughout my life I've seen two to three. What they are isn't the point though, so I've never submitted to official 'skywatching' groups recently.
I've had a far more extensive saga, but the question was for seeing UFOs.^^

The beauty of UFOs is that a UFO is any unidentified flying object. A lot of people get all snobby like "Who can believe in UFOs?". To not believe in UFOs is to believe that everyone can always identify anything they might see in the sky, which is ridiculous.
When I was in my mid-50's, I was drivin home one night and there was this weird blue light in the sky. At first I thought it was the full moon... until I saw it had a tail.. shooting star then.. only it wasn't moving and was pretty still.. WTF was this thing?! I couldn't get a good look at it 'cause it was kind of behind me, and I needed to look at the road, but when I got home I got my binoculars out and took a peeksy..
This is what it was. Gorgeous night I'll never forget. The only reason I didn't pull the car over and call the National Guard or find a meteor shelter or something was because I vaguely remembered reading about a comet in the paper. Of course, I didn't pay it any mind: That stuff always fizzles out. Spent more nights than I'd like to admit freezing my slime off lookin for meteor showers that never developed. But this.. this came true and was well worth it. And had I gone out looking for it, I don't think it would've been as much fun.. the weird part, is that that's the only night I remember seeing it. Why didn't I go out again? Who knows! If it happened again, I'd be out there every night until it was gone.
I've seen other stuff I didn't understand too, but nothing "note-worthy". Just stars that look weird through the trees, that kinda thing. What's really weird to me is when you see something in the sky and recognize it, but don't know why it's there. Once I saw a group of attack helicopters patrolling the outskirts of a supermarket parking lot in broad daylight. What were they up to? I'll never know!
