This is basically what the point of all of those sculptures and all of my hours painting them lead up to. The official cover art for the game! I like that the game art is the size of a CD, mostly because it reminds me of both the Weezer albums (Blue and Green specifically) and the Playstation 1 era of games. I think looking at it you get a big feel for what the game is about and how it's both simple but giant. Final Fantasy 9 was my favorite, and still is, Final Fantasy game, and they had the core main characters lined up across the front in a similar fashion. There will be other characters sculpted and made, but these are definitely the dudes worthy of the cover for sure.

On that note, progress is moving along for an end of November Heart of the OHR massive demo release. I've been tying up every loose end I can think of for this release and I'm pretty excited to share it with you guys.

On closer inspection (with a better shot), the Gary sculpture in particular is really nice. And I'm always pleased when someone makes the effort to polish a game.

the plan is to make a physical release, which will basically be the PC version with the windows installer and all of that. will have a small instruction booklet. I'm also at some point going to make a strategy guide for the game once I can take screenshots of whole maps reasonably someday.

Could take the Mario Mania approach and take a screen-by-screen shot and staple it all together.

Exporting a full map to a BMP file was Pheonix's Heart of the OHR Request.

I also think TMC said he has some half finished code to do it.

That is a fantastic request and I'm glad someone put it on the list. It will help out a lot with things like strategy guides and even just general dungeon planning.

Soda Piggy and I were originally making a game called Takoyaki Surprise 2, and in it, were these random manatees with jetpacks. I was picking my core four guys for this game and I asked him what the last guy should be and in excitement from those manatees, he said that. I took it a step further and gave him a flight helmet, very similar to the Rocketeer.

Long story short... he's a manatee with a jet pack.

I was actually thinking today about starting on that soon. I did have a little code for a map data import/export menu, but not for .bmp export.

Music Mini-game 99% Complete

Post by Soda_piggy »

Just put some final(ish) touches on the mini-game. You can now save and load your own songs in your game. :)

So when do you plan to show us how to make a song? It looks really awesome, and I think it'll be really interesting to try, but I still wanna know what those numbers in the boxes are for.

From what it looks like, each row corresponds to the instrument playing, the white bars are measures, and the numbers just represent different loops for each instrument. So 1 for the piano plays a certain melody, and then track 2 plays a different melody, and so on. I think the length of each box just depends on the number.

I'm interested on how you accomplish that. Does it save to the rsav or have its own separate file?

From the way Sodapiggy has described this to me... yeah, you basically select a box, then cycle through the available riffs, sounds, etc. and you just mix them all up. The song will keep going as long as there is something on one of the pages. He might need to correct me, but you could possibly do 9 blank pages then just do music on the last page and it would work.

Based on how much space is available in the game after it's finished, will determine if the final game will have more sounds to play around with or not. We're definitely going to max this game out.

<a href="http://s19.photobucket.com/user/RedMave ... 1.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/ ... 59b881.png" border="0" alt="Triangle's Adventure - Noodle Chef photo TriangleMA_NoodleChef_zpsb159b881.png"></a>

There's also a brand new cooking mini-game from the minds of myself and Surlaw/The Wobbler. It's called "Noodle Chef". In Noodle Chef a lot of the logic of Walrus Chef, and Surlaw Chef take place, except it's a bit more different as it only focuses on the noodles. It's definitely the most modern version of Surlaw's cooking minigame.
