"Let's head on in. At the very least, it'd be nice to see what the noise was about", Rachelle responds.

And if the source ended up being aggressive and ended up destroying the skeleton - that would mean one less undead being towed around.

Although Lynda appreciates exploring, she doesn't like leaving loose ends untied.

She begins to scrawl on a note.

"Kalar. I'm not so sure where this area will lead, but we need to tie up some loose ends. I suggest we go back and investigate the painter and the bull man. I would do so myself, but they might not be so receptive to notes or charades."

She then hands the note to Kalar.

Kalar nods at Rachelle's words.

He orders one of his skeletons to open the door and head on in. The other he commands to stay at Rachelle's side, ready for anything that might attack.

He takes Lynda's note and reads it. Lynda does have a point, there might be something back there that will help the two of them.

"Very well," he says to Lynda, "We'll head back there as soon as we're done here. I would be more comfortable if we had either Galse or Rachelle with us as well, in addition to Dave and company. For now though, let's stick together until we've found out what's in that room"

The skeleton opens the door. It opens towards the party partially blocking their view into the room. The lean over to get a better view, but only get a quick look before getting interrupted by a tentacled attack on the skeleton. The skeleton gets yanked into the room by the tentacle.

Rachelle steps away from the door, and turns to the rest of the party.

"Do we have any real way to deal with this right now?" she asks.

Lynda looks at her weapons, and then gives Rachelle a shrug.

Kalar considers this.

"We might. Lynda's injury doesn't stop her from fighting, and I do still have two more minions available. If we can get Galse and Tammy in, it would be easier, but as it is... I vote that we press on, but it's absolutely your call, my dear."

Kalar doesn't want to have to deal with tentacled creatures, but at the same time he rather wants to find something to rid himself of the spontaneous combustion.

The tentacled skeleton shatters to the ground, destroyed. Out slithers a large, horrible, unearthly creature on six crab-like legs. It has a grotesque bloated body covered with an oily yellow-orange membrane, from which protrude masses of tentacles, four yellow, bulging eyes and a repulsive tooth-filled mouth in the top. There are five large lumps on the upper part of its body, just above the baleful eyes.

"Blast it... Lynda! My weapon!"

Not waiting for Lynda, he takes out a javelin and hurls it at the creature's eyes from behind his tower shield.

Lynda promptly hands Kalar his weapon.

She takes out her own bow, and fires at the hideous beasts eyes.

Rachelle slashes at the creature with her halberd, hoping to rid it of one of its tentacles.

Kalar quickly draws a javelin and chucks it at the beast. His aim is true and the strike is good. He skewers one of the lumps on the creature. Revolting liquid spills out followed by a brain. The creatures looks angry.

Lynda tosses Kalar his weapon and draws her own. She fires but misses badly.

Rachelle attacks the beast's tentacles. They slither about making them hard to hit. She does manage to slice a few as she slashes, but none are severed.

The beast wiggles it's tentacles in an arcane fashion. Bright magically rings surround Rachelle. Rachelle is held in place. She finds she is unable to move.

Kalar deals 10 dmg
Rachelle deals 7 dmg and is held.

Kalar hefts his war pick, deciding whether or not it's time to enter the fray. After seeing Rachelle held though, he thinks against it, instead hoping that his skeletons will be of some use.

Instead, he holds up his holy symbol and channels his power, inspiring
* all of his allies to perform better in combat.

Next Round

If Rachelle is still held and:

...both skeletons are still up, Kalar will order both skeletons to tackle the creature and try to bear it to the ground (standard action). Kalar will then move closer to Rachelle, to draw attacks away from Lynda and to protect the helpless Rachlee (move action). He will hide behind his tower shield for maximum defense (total cover).

...only one skeleton is still up, Kalar will order that skeleton to grab Rachelle and drag her back (standard action). He will then tell Lynda that they're doing a fighting retreat. He will move backwards with Lynda, trying to keep both behind his shield (move action). He will try to keep his shield between himself and the creature, with Lynda behind him.

...no skeletons are up, Kalar will tell Lynda to back away while covering them with her longbow. He will then move to Rachelle to provide total cover for both her and himself (move action). He will ten try to drag her back with one hand, while holding the tower shield up with his other (standard action, I guess?)

If Rachelle is no longer held and is attacking:

...and at least one skeleton is still up, Kalar will order his skeleton(s) to set up a flank for Rachelle.

...and no skeletons are up, Kalar will move in to join the fray (fighting defensively + combat expertise = -8 to hit, +6 AC)

*So you don't have to look it up in another window/tab:

Nobility Domain power

The character has the spell-like ability to inspire allies, giving them a +2 morale bonus on saving throws, attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls. Allies must be able to hear the character speak for 1 round. Using this ability is a standard action. It lasts a number of rounds equal to the character’s Charisma bonus and can be used once per day.

Also, to make things easier for you, would it help if at the start of combat, we all posted our To-Hit, AC, HP, etc...?

"What an AWFUL wracket they are making in there" Tammytharn remarks to False. "Do you want to go check on them?"

Then looking at Thistlewhistle, "He could sleep through ANYTHING"
