Kalar nods at Lynda.

"A wise choice, my dear."

He turns to Tammytharn and says, "Does this convince you that I have had nothing to do with what has happened to her? Or perhaps this would be more to your liking."

He takes his war pick from the loop in his belt and hands it to Lynda, leaving himself without a (physical) weapon.

Kalar bursts into flames.

Kalar takes 2 dmg and is on fire.

Kalar drops to the ground, rolling to smother the flames.

Through the pain, he manages, "Or is... this... not also proof... enough for you? Did... you think I would... do this... to myself?"

Kalar puts out the fire without further injury.

Rachelle looks at Kalar, somewhat concerned. Don't want him near anything flammable, that's for sure.

And yet...

Rachelle points back the way she came. "The room north of here is pretty cold, but it seems fine otherwise. The other two options - the tile room and the warforged - don't seem all that great right now, especially since we'll have heat when Kalar spontaneously combusts again."

Tammytharn ignores both Kalar's words and his flames, although there is something oddly strained about her otherwise calm expression.

She takes an ink pen, and a few sheets of parchment from her pack, and gives them to Lynda

Kalar stands, albeit rather painfully.

"Very well, let us move on then, no sense standing around waiting to burst into flames again. Rachelle, you mentioned a cold room? As good a place as any to start then. Best if you lead the way then, as you're the only one to have seen this room thus far."

He mentally commands Dave to return and accompany Rachelle, and to attack should anything horrible pop up and attack the party. The other two he orders to his flanks, ready to intercept anything now that he is weaponless.

Before moving on though, he turns to Tammytharn and says, "Well, my dear, what of our gnomish friend? Any improvement? If there's none, then I do believe that you shall take it upon yourself to carry him yourself? Seeing as how you would hate to leave a stricken comrade behind." The last part, of course, he says rather sarcastically, to further drive home his various points from their previous argument.

"Of course, if you would prefer to have your hands free to react to any new threats, you can always ask for my aid, which I would be glad to provide." he concludes with a smile, albeit a somewhat condescending one.

Writing implements! Perfect! Lynda promptly begins to write something down.

"When Kalar and I crossed over the tiles in the letter tile room, they came alive as demons and possessed us. As you can see, Kalar is going to be a fireball as long as it inhabits him. I, however, have been struck mute. My demon causes me to shout out random things, which is out of my control. Please forgive me if I scream out anything offensive, wild, or otherwise dangerous."

She hands the note to Tammytharn.

Lynda says something in a muffled voice.

Rachelle leads the group into the cold corridor. The party sees small doors as well as the ones that are marked. They also see the normal sized door towards the end of the corridor.

Galse hangs back in the lab, deeming it safe for now, with Thistlewhistle and Tammytharn.

Kalar keeps an eye out for any sign of something that might help his and Lynda's problem.

"Is this it? By your description I assumed the room would be covered in frost."

(Everyone Listen Check, except thistlewhistle)
A terrible cracking sound comes from the door towards the end of the corridor.

Kalar sends the two skeletons at his side forward towards the door, ready to intercept and tackle anything that suddenly bursts through. He orders Dave to stay put beside Rachelle, ready to defend her. As for himself, he'll stay well back, acting as support for the more combat-ready members of the party.

"Right, lads, could be something's coming, get ready."

Rachelle leads the living part of party, staying behind the two skeletons with her shield raised in front of her. Whatever that cracking sound came from, it probably wasn't something friendly, or easily put down by two undead.

Hopefully they'd be able to do enough damage to whatever lay beyond the door to make the cleanup much easier, though Rachelle didn't really believe this herself.

A few moments pass, nothing comes through the door and nothing else is heard.

"That's... strange?"

Kalar calls to Rachelle and says, "Rachelle, my dear, shall I send one of my skeletons on through? Or would you prefer to venture elsewhere? We'll follow your lead."
