Lynda sighs deeply, and shakes her head.

"You make a great point Galse...I just didn't want to risk her killing him. I should have known that even if he lived, he'd probably wouldn't think the same of us after this whole ordeal. Whatever you think of my actions, it's done now, and I'll just have to live with the consequences. I vote to have Kalar speak with him. He's the best with words, and I can't really look at the man anymore because of what I did."

Lynda decides to slip on the ring she found.

"At any rate, we're still in this...hell, as Simon had put it. Whether he was being figurative of literal, I cannot tell. How do you weigh in on this?"

Kalar scoffs at this, "Hell? I doubt that we're in the actual Hells at the moment. More likely some strange curse or the other. Trust me on this, I'm quite familiar with the Hells, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that we are not in them."

In truth though, Kalar isn't exactly certain. He's fairly sure it's just a cursed castle of some sort, but he's not entirely sure. He tries to use his knowledge of religion and the sort to deduce whether or not they could actually be in the Hells.

Lynda laughed as the others asked her what the name of different plants were. She had no idea. The group had just left for what would prove to be a very long journey. They had no idea they would end up in a cursed castle fighting for their lives. Rachelle Larchson saw Lynda as a possible friend in the group. Sure, they might only have being elf girls in common, but it was better than nothing. Plus, a lot of the people she was traveling with were creepy.
The night they all stayed at the farm house, Rachelle assured Lynda that Silas was most likely not involved in the death that occurred, and that they could ask him about it later when time had past. She was sure Silas had simply gone out to investigate things, he was always doing that sort of thing. She had started to like the company of this group. Perhaps her party mates would become some of her best friends, or more.
That night in the cave, she had planned to go over and hook up with one of the group, perhaps Yauntor she thought. The next thing she knew she was waking up in a forest.
She was being held down. She struggled to free herself and found that it was the grass that was holding her. She looked around for her group. There should be dozens of people around her. That's when she heard him. Thauntus Wildheart was over gurgling as a large flower devoured him. She didn't think much of Thauntus, but seeing one of her party being eaten sent rage into her bones. She tore her way out of the grass and ran over to save Thauntus. It was too late though, Thauntus was dead. Rachelle looked around for her party mates, her friends. She saw only a few empty sleeping bags. A disembodied foot being grabbed by the grass told a grim tale.
Not too far off, Rachelle could hear talking. It was coming from a door way set into a large wall. Thats when Rachelle looked up and saw that she was in an indoor forest. Rachelle decided it would be best to investigate the talking. In the door, she found the chapel.

Silas never answered Kalars question. He just lies there, completely inert, eyes half open, not blinking, not breathing, not moving a metal muscle.

Has he forgotten about the word around him? Is he too wrapped up in praying to Vecna to care what is going on? Does he think he is still dead? It is hard to know. For anyone observing, he does still seem dead.

Looking at Silas, Lynda says "Is...Is Silas dead...?! I'm no doctor or anything, but...he's not looking so good."

Rachelle couldn't see her friends and the voices quickly died down. Rachelle decided a chapel might be a safe place to stay for the night. Even though she had just woken up she felt exhausted. She went over to one of the pews and sat down. After a while she laid down and went to sleep.

The rest of the party had all retired for the night. Galse stood watch for a good long while, but figured much as the others did, the zombies would wake everyone if something happened. Towards the end of what the party was considering night, everyone aside from the sleepless Silas was sleeping. Then Rachelle woke up.

Was it a dream? Everything was spinning in her head. She was sitting alone in a chapel that she had heard here friends in. Where was she? Where was everyone else?

From the moment Silas had been brought back to life, he had been praying to Vecna and meditating. After 8 hours of devotion to his god, Silas felt that his spells were ready to cast.

He stands up and looked around at the others where they sleep.

He moves quietly to stand over Lynda

He remembers the promise he made to Vecna, Evil God Of Secrets when he thought he would die. Lynda will be his sacrifice. He will cut her to pieces and hide each different body part where only the Lord Of The Lost Eye And The Lost Hand will ever be able to find the remains

Silas will start by silently slitting Lynda's throat. He will not waste any spells on her, he knows they would be wasted.

If he succeeds, he will try to silently drag her body away and out of the chapel so he can begin cutting off fingers and buring them in secret places in the forest.

If anyone else wakes and interrupts him, he will cast Blindness on them. The world will be hidden from them, and their fear and rage will be an unwilling prayer to the God of Secrets.

If the Zombies interfere he will cast Disrupt Undead on them.

He prays to his Unholy God for the strength to complete this deed.

Silas stands up, goes over to Lynda and bends down. He does so as quietly as he can and no one seems to wake. He draws his dagger and as quietly as he can, he stabs Lynda in the throat.
Lynda is yanked into waking world and welcomed with a gurgling wave of blood. She can't speak, Silas is standing over her with a dagger and everyone else seems to still be asleep.
She springs to her feet and manages a scream. Everyone wakes up.

Rachelle hears a scream coming from up on the loft.

Lynda takes 7 dmg.

Everyone is currently in combat.

"You bastard!" Lynda shrieks. "I should've known!"
The 'should've known' part isn't actually entirely true, but what else do you shout?

She takes out her dagger and tries to retaliate the best she can, considering she's gushing blood.

The splash of blood brings back such memories...

But this knife is terrible! Why did he never bother to look for a better one?

Silas is momentarily struck with indecision... Should he keep hacking away at her ridiculously durable neck? What if she fights back? What can he cast that will help? No magic will work on her! Should he retreat and try to pretend it was an accident caused by confusion from a nightmare? Will anyone fall for that? Should he just turn around and blind Kalar where he sleeps out of sheer spite?

Finally Silas decides to stick to the original plan. Kill Lynda, do it quick! Stab again!

SMACK! Too late!

Lynda gasps dramatically. She knew Silas was creepy, and that she caught him sulking, but dismissed it as general creepy behavior. The fact that he tried to murder one of his own party members was very surprising.

"He tried to kill me!" She says. "He honestly tried to kill me...!"

She looks to her party members. "What do we do with him now?! He's not moving again...what if he wakes back up and tries and kill me again?! Or someone else?!"

Lynda looks at herself.

"Now my dress is bloodstained..." She mumbles faintly.

Kalar rushes over to Lynda and places one hand over the wound and uses his other to hold up his holy symbol.

He channels energy from the holy symbol and through his hand, <a href="http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/cureLi ... healing</a> the injury.

With that done, he looks at the inert body of Silas. He curses himself for not seeing that this would happen sooner or later. He is sure now that Silas is more of a threat than anything else, and that he will no longer prove useful. Indeed, he will probably be a detriment from this point onwards.

Without ceremony, he takes his war pick from the loop in his belt, readies it, and drives the spike into the warforged's skull.

After finishing off the warforge Kalar turns to see that Lynda is still injured. Her injury hasn't healed at all. He's not sure he understands. An injury that size should have been fully healed by his spell.
