"No, we're not going to town. We need to get back to the library to tell Moriamis. She's the only one who's been helpful thus far, and this changes things. I believe this takes priority over everything else."

"I wish we had some way of knowing if the wall moved back... maybe it's always this way... like the tides? Or maybe we should forget politics and religious axes and try to complete our task..." Voulton is deeply concerned and not in any mood for shenanigans.
"We can drop you off in Moulins if you want." is all he can offer Claire.

"Believe me, if the fog had moved like that before, I would have heard of it" says Rob with more confidence than he feels.
He searches his memory to try and remember if he actually has heard any such rumors

Meanwhile, many miles away:
"So I guess we're sure they aren't illusions now," The dragon said.
"Don't joke, my spell unraveled the barrier between this pocket plane and the hellish plane surrounding it," Dan said.
"I don't know why you thought they were illusionary to begin with. Why would Azedarc create illusions to kill his own people?"
"It could have been a long drawn out plan," Dan replied. "I wouldn't put it past the guy."
The dragon sighed deeply. "Anyways, this tear in the barrier is serious. I assume you don't have any barrier fixing spells. You know what you have to use."
"Ah man, there's only two left," Dan said. "I've really wasted this thing."
As the bloodhulks begin to row, the party notices a man appear out of thin air on the bank of river. He waves towards the party. "Hey, don't go away," he says. This man is Dan Rottlerwits. Dan took something out of his pocket and whispered to himself.
A blinding flash followed. As soon as everyone could see again, they saw the mist was back where it belonged. Dan was waving them back towards the shore.

Kalar is suspicious of this, but it might prove to be interesting. The mist did return and seems to not be moving any more, so there's that. Still, he readies his holy symbol, just in case.
He orders this bloodhulks to stop and return, but does not disembark yet. Instead, he calls out to the man, "Right, we've stopped. But if you want to talk, you'll have to come here. I have a patient that I am tending to, and I would rather not leave her."
Kalar mentally commands his skeletons to attack if the man shows any sign of hostility.

"Quickly, to shore! I think this whole thing is about to come together!" Voulton laughs! "Or he's going to be a werewolf and kill us, but it's a chance I'm willing to take! Didja see that?!"

"That.. Is... My father..." Says Rob, bewildered. Dan looks exactly as Rob remembers him from his mother's painting, as if he has not aged a day.
Rob realizes he is about to meet his father face to face for the first time. Impulses to wrap him in a bear hug, or punch him in the face fight for dominance in Rob's mind.
"Don't say anything yet! Please!" He whispers to the others as they turn towards shore. "I don't know if he will recognize me."

"Very well, Rob, we will follow your lead. Know though, that the safety of this party is my first concern right now, and I will attack at the first sign of hostility."

Voulton just laughs, knowing the end of the journey is near! If he doesn't want to talk about his dad, that's fine!

"Just because you're loathsome doesn't mean you have to assume everyone else is" Rachelle hisses at Kalar (a bit more literally than she would have done when she wasn't a lizard).
She holds off making any sort of judgement herself, at least for right now. She feels something was going to happen, but whether it will turn out positively or not is beyond her.

"And just how often have we met people genuinely interested in helping us? Save your condescension for someone who has not been working to save us all, for someone who has not died for us. And don't talk to me about loathsome. I was not the one content to put innocents in danger when we were attacked."
Kalar reigns in his anger and says to everyone, "But for now, let's do as Rob instructed. We can finish this argument later, for now I will continue tending to Lynda."

"Father?! Well, this is awkward. Let's address that later. First, I understand you have the Sword of Sylaire. Impressive. Do you have any of the other three artifacts?" Dan says.

"Do we need them? Can't we just keep pushing the walls back?"
Not wanting to undermine the man's accomplishments, Voulton adds: "A fine trick, by the way!"

"Well, I assume you know they are required to break the curse. If transversing the mist was all it took to break the curse, it would have been broken centuries ago. So, do you have the mirror?"

Voulton shrugs and looks to the others. He knows they got a mirror from Gaspard but isn't sure that it's the right one
