Whatever they were getting roped into, Lynda felt very unsure about it. She decided to go with her instinct.

"A dinner party? That sounds very extravagent...but alas, I have nothing to wear! I couldn't possibly show up to such a lavish event, wearing these pitiful rags!" Lynda says, completely consumed with feigned anguish.

Perhaps this could be her ticket out of this banquet business. At the very least, she put it in kind enough words that wouldn't get her crushed if the ogre declines.

The ghostly dinner is in full swing when the party arrives. Janette sits down at the end of the row of empty chairs and motions for the others to join her. The party all see their names on placeholders on the plates in front of some of the empty chairs.
"Please, sit. The food will be served soon," the ogre says and then turns and roughly places it's napkin on it's lap.

Lynda remained behind in the ogre's bedroom, thinking of changing her dress.

Kalar takes the seat set aside for himself. He waits for the ogre to make the first move, seeing as how it is the host.

He smiles at the ogre and says, "This is a very lovely banquet you have set, my lady."

"Well, I'm alone...time to see what this room has that can be of use." She thinks to herself. "I'll check on the rest of my group afterwards."

Lynda decides to investigate the ogre's bedroom, to see what it has to offer in the way of valuables and useful items.

Finally in his element, and refreshed to see the party showing some manners to the hosts for a change, Galse gladly sits at his assigned place. He seems to be taking particular interest in the eating habits and etiquette of his neighbors/fellow diners, and even more particular interest in the behavior of the servants. You can learn a lot about a place by how a meal is served, and we know precious little about our hosts so far. Wars have been started over improperly buttered bread, a wrong move at the dinner table could lead to calamity! He's clearly being very cautious not to offend anyone.. or maybe he's just squinting, it's hard to tell.

Lynda begins searching the room. She opens most of the drawers and does find anything of value other than clothes. She find that the vanity had lots of jewelry in it though and begins to riffle through it.

In the dining hall, the party reluctantly sits at their places. They stay tense, ready to jump into action at any time.
Janette explains, "There be three courses. Each more divine than last."
The food is served. The ghostly waiters bring in plates and plates full of food.

For the first course each character receives Onion Soup, Green Wine and a tossed salad. They all look remarkably made and smell like the best thing you've ever had.

Who eats and what do you eat?

Seeing how comfortable Galse is in the environment, Kalar decides to follow Galse's lead in terms of table manners and dinner etiquette. He'll still speak up for the party though, relying on his wordsmithing to keep them alive.

Everyone has a role to play, he just hopes that working together, they'll get out of this alive.

Kalar looks at the offered meals, and decides on something that will be easy to eat with minimal fuss. Also, one that requires the least amount of cutlery-use.

"Thank you, this onion soup looks delicious."

With that, Kalar (reluctantly) begins to eat the onion soup. He avoids the wine, not wanting to dull his senses or his diplomatic abilities. He likewise avoids eating the salad, as he is unsure of how to eat all of the little bits of green, having mainly subsisted on army food prior.

Lynda, dreading being left out of the party, decides to change into something finer, like a nice dress. If she's going to a fancy party, she might as well play the part. And, if Janette so happens to confront her, she can simply use her words to hopefully work her way out of it.

Upon changing, she will go out and join the party at the dinner party.

What did the waiters look like? Nicely dressed? Polite? Say anything? And what of the other diners? Are they eating? How enthusiastically? Would you say the place is fancy? More of an IHOP? Chuck E. Cheese? When guys came in and out of the kitchen, did we hear anything? Were the cooks yelling? Were there yummy smells? And when you say ghostly, how ghostly are we talking? Is Nearly Headless Nick floatin around the room on his horse? Is it a Casper kind of thing? Can we tell how they died? Died from POISON, maybe? Or maybe they liked eating so much they couldn't stop and are being held on this mortal coil by a desire to keep eating? At which point, we can assume they'd be pretty enthusiastic about the food and to hell with manners. Which brings us to the Ogre. Is she a ghost? Is she eating? Does she seem to be in any particular pain? Does she seem to enjoy it too much? I'm afraid I won't be able to say whether or not Galse is eating until these questions have been answered.

Galse gazes around the room searching for answers.
The waiters are dressed like butlers. They seem very well mannered but don't address any of the party directly. The other dinners are all well dressed ghosts. They would seem completely normal for royals if not for being slightly see through. They pay not attention to anyone in the party or the ogre at all. They are not served the same food as the party, nor at the same time. The room is very bare under the ghostly images. The images themselves show a very fancy looking dining room. The waiters come in through a catwalk entrance above the door everyone came in. The kitchen, as Ardan found out, is across the hall and very little noise carries over.
The food in front of Galse smells heavenly. The Ogre is eating all the food and looks fine. It could be said that she likes the food too much, but Galse has never seen an ogre eat at a fancy table before so it's impossible to tell.

Galse also just ate breakfast, so he'll stick to the wine for the time being...

Silas sees the others eating and decides to be the one not to get potentially poisoned. The others eat their food and drink their drinks. Soon the first course is over and the waiters come and take the plates away.

Kalar gains 4 maxhp permanently.
Galse feels a healing effect wash over him.

Kalar visibly looks healthier to everyone. Lynda walks in. She looks stunning in a fancy dress she found. Janette looks delighted by this. Lynda sits at her spot just as the second course is served. The second course, the main course, is roast beef, wheat bread, mushrooms in wine sauce, green beans and a red wine.

Who eats and what do they eat.

Lynda is relieved to see that the Lady approves of her attire. For now, she lives.

Seeing as how the others are eating, she figures she might as well eat too. Lynda realizes how hungry she is. After all, she spent an entire night without food. She decides to try some of everything she was served. She also tries to manage being ladylike while stuffing her face.

Feeling a bit better from the wine, Galse will eat the bread and have a bit more wine as well. Like the old rhyme says, green before red and you'll never get dead.

Not wanting to offend his host by refusing what looks to be the main course, Kalar partakes of the roast beef. He considers eating the wheat bread, and though he wants to minimize the risks to himself, he's also concerned that offending the host would be even more hazardous to his health, so he takes the bread along with some green beans, all the while hoping there's no poison.

The mushrooms in wine sauce though, he'll avoid. It's full of sauce, and he'd rather not make a mess of things and embarrass himself, something that would not be conducive to further diplomacy.

He continues to refrain from drinking any of the wine, wanting to keep in top form with his wordsmithing.
