"Let's head for the river. I've got a boat ready that we can use, but we'll have to get off before the 24 hour mark as this boat will only last that long. We'll all be able to spend the day resting, I'll have my skeletons row the boat upstream. We should be back at the city in a day and a half or so."

Voulton nods, seems like a good plan. "The rest will be nice after all we been through." but deep down he doesn't believe it's going to be peaches and cream like he's told.

Kalar nods.

Once they get to the river, he activates the feather token he created and casts it into the river, creating a swan boat.

Once everyone is aboard, he will order his skeletons to start rowing upstream as quickly as they can. For now, Bill will ride in the boat with them.

Kalar will take it easy during the trip, focusing on finishing the glove he was working on.

The party gets to the river without encountering any problems. Kalar's boat bursts into being and his minions all board and take their place. Some debate is had over how the werewolf children's cart would be put on the boat. And the party generally stops for a bit after the boat appears, to talk things out.

"There might be enough room on the boat for the cart, but it will be rather cramped what with the rest of us, the skeletons, and Bill. If Tammytharn can guarantee they won't run off, we might be able to let them out of the cage. Personally, I believe it might be better for them to remain in the cart, as who knows if they'll panic being aboard the boat."

Voulton shrugs. "Cart, no cart. So long as they don't escape, doesn't make a difference." So long as he doesn't have to kill any kids, doesn't make a difference.

"Yes, we are going to have to take them out of the cart soon, but their first time on a boat is the wrong time to do it." says Tammytharn.

"We can put the cart back there, and I will sit with them."

Without waiting for an answer, she busies herself with trying to make them comfortable. She uses her other casting of Create Food and Water to attempt to create some sweet-pastries for the children.

Then she takes out her glowing coin that she had created with Continual Flame, and shows them how she can hide the light in her hand, and then reveal it again. She offers it to the oldest one, saying (as much to herself as to the children) "For a night-light. Even a werewolf can be afraid of the dark."

As soon as the boat has embarked, she will cast Sending to talk with Galse and ask him if he knows a safe place for the children.

She has not said so to her companions yet, but she is now seriously considering abandoning the Quest so she can focus on caring for these orphans.

"Very well, we'll leave you to it."

Kalar orders his skeletons to haul the cart on board. Once everyone is settled in, he then commands them to start rowing as quickly as they can, so as to make up for lost time. He then settles in to work on his glove.

The cart is loaded on the boat and everyone makes themselves' comfortable. The boat disembarks and is soon floating it's way to Vyones.
Tammytharn messages Galse. She asks him about the children and he answers will clear and resounding, here. "I'm a partial owner here already and we have plenty of rooms." The way Galse describes the place leads Tammytharn to believe it's bigger than she remembers it. Tammytharn wonders if bringing werewolf children around that many people would be the best idea. But if not there, where?

Tammytharn uses her other Sending spell to contact Moriamis. This time she is less forthcoming and direct, because she doesn't trust Moriamis like she trusts Galse, but she aks if Moriamis knows of a way to keep werewolf children safe, and give them an appropriate education

Moriamis answers, "What an odd question. Where would one even find werewolf children. Does such a thing even exist? Do you have some?"

Tammytharn does not expound any further than "Not entirely a hypothetical question, please keep thinking about it" Then she sends nothing further.

Tammytharn decides she wants to try and take the children to Galse first. She will resort to visiting Moriamis only if one or more of them turn out to be unmanageable juvenile delinquents.

Her mind is made up, and she now starts thinking about how to break the news to her friends that she wants to abandon the quest.

She makes another attempt to learn the childrens' names.

"What should I call you? My name is Tammytharn." she tries, on the older ones.

The children make no new effort to interact with Tammytharn. The day turned to night as the boat traveled up the large river. The party struggled to rest on the cramped boat. Before they knew it Kalar was telling them they needed to get off the boat. Everyone made it off just in time. They watched the boat vanish and then prepare for the next part of their journey.

"Right, so by my estimate, we should only be a few hours away from the city. What is our course of action? I can fly ahead on Bill to scout the area and get some idea of where the colossus is before rendezvousing at the city. Alternatively, we could all stick together to look for the colossus or head for the city. What will it be?"

While waiting for an answer, Kalar prepares and casts a Sending spell to Hrulgin. He asks, "What is the situation in the city? Any sign of the necromancer? Where are you? We are hours away, prepare to rendezvous and head out."

*I'm assuming a day passed and we had the chance to prepare new spells.

"We should head to the city. They've had more time and more manpower to scout than we do, and we have no idea what we're risking by splitting up. After we get to the city and orchestrate with them, we'll know what we're getting into."

And just in case he somehow still has it, Voulton offers the sword around to everyone. He was only carrying it down the treacherous stairs and has no desire to wield it in combat. "More comfortable with an axe" as he'd explain it.
