Voulton is even more confused. Deeply, deeply confused. He'll go up to the top of the tower to see for himself. From what he's been told, he has a bad feeling he knows what the deal is... did the woods seem more overgrown than when we left? "If only we could talk to her and figure out what happened.." he speculates to no one in particular, as he walks back and forth examining the woods and examining the top of the tower, working up a sweat and trying to figure out what's going on.

Rachelle was incredibly confused by this turn of events. If this woman had been dead for an incredibly long time given their actions in the past, what else would have changed? Would the people they met along the way still know them? Would the book Rachelle had "borrowed" from the underground library still be wanted back there?
[On that thought, Rachelle searches through her bag for the copy of that book, just to make sure it hadn't vanished in some sort of temporal snafu.]
Certainly the werewolf-filled events that they were up to in the... past, for lack of a better term, couldn't have happened. But were any of the pieces of their former adventure still around?
...she wanted to know what Galse was up to.

Tammytharn ignores the goings-on at the tower. She casts Cure Light Wounds, Mass (healing domain l5 bonus spell) on all of them. Then she casts Tongues on herself and tries to ask the names of the older children, ashamed that she had not tried it sooner.
Tammytharn would have gladly contacted False for Rachelle, but has already expended her one Sending spell.

"I'm utterly positive there was a secret passage here!" Lynda says.
She stops, then has an idea. She takes off her amulet, to become entirely ghostly again.
"Guys...I'm gonna try and find that passageway." She announces. "I hope this works out..."
Lynda goes over roughly where the passage was, and wills herself to try and sink through the floor to investigate.

It was mid-day as the party explored the clearing and tower. Lynda knew there was a secret door there, but couldn't see any way to open it. She called upon her see through nature. She focused hard on the idea of passing through the wall. She stumbled forward as the world fell away. Everything was pale and white. She could see the wall and could no longer touch it. And then she was back. Only she was in a room she had never seen before. A large dusty canopy bed sat in the middle of what looked to be a very fancy bedroom and three skeletons laid near a large lever on the wall. Everything in the room seemed very ancient. Everything, that is, aside from a small box on top of a desk. The box looked similar to a book and had a keyhole on it, in front where the wooden pages were.
Tammytharn tried her best to talk with the children. Even with magical assistance they did not reply to her. One of the girls though, the one Tammytharn thinks was holding the baby, stepped forward from the huddle within the cart. "Thank you," she said, in common. Then she went back to the huddle and continued ignoring Tammtharn.
Rachelle found her book. It didn't stop her mind from racing though. She looked at Voulton and shared a moment of confused wonder. What had changed?

"Ohoho, now we're talking..." Lynda says, pleased. She puts her amulet back on.
Lynda uses the tools she got from Kalar to try and open the box, assuming that it's locked.

Lynda manages to unlock the box. She cracks it open and a green ray shoots out and smacks her in her face. She thanks her amulet, yet again. Inside the book, Lynda finds a stack of arcane scrolls. In total, she picks up 15 scrolls. On the bottom of the box Lynda finds a ring, a headband, and a pair of glasses.

Tammytharn's heart melts a little, realizing the girl could understand them all along, and in spite of what they have done, still give thanks for a little healing magic.
"We are going to find a safe place for you" she says... She doesn't know where that is yet, but she is now feeling all the more determined to find out.
She decides that in the morning, she will prepare two sending spells, one to contact Galse, and one to contact Moriamis. She will ask them each for ideas about where the children can be kept safe.

While everyone else is doing their own things, Kalar continues work on his Glove of Healing.

So they heard it all... ouch. Voulton's a little ashamed of himself (though not much, because MONSTERS)... weird how prejudice sneaks up on you. He tries to find some comforting words for them... how did that speech go?
"Kids... you didn't ask to be the way you are. It's not fair, but all your lives you're going to be judged because of who your parents were. People are going to look at normal, childish things you do and see malice because they think they know "who you really are"... that actually might be easier for you, most of the month... nevermind!"
Not exactly the same situation, better improvise.. adapt a little...
"The important thing is it's up to you to prove them wrong. You've gotta find a way to take that darkness inside you and turn it around, use it to show those people that you still have a choice and that you're choosing NOT to be a monster and that you can be a credit to society. I don't know if that big guy was your dad or what, don't know if even matters what I say. But we tried to help him, tried to give him a choice. He chose to be the monster. What happened to the rest of 'em was an accident" he glares at Kalar, still a little sore about that "and it nearly killed us too."
"I'm just a woodsman, I don't understand your condition. I only know what I've seen, and what I've seen are good men turned into bloodthirsty monsters. Why? Because they were doing their jobs and they got bit. They got scratched. By people like you. After that, their families, their jobs, their lives? Didn't mean anything to them. They didn't get a choice. You do."
"It's not going to be easy. This guy" a friendlier look at Kalar, 'cause he's got guts "died to keep from going through what you're going through.. of course there was a nice lady around to bring him back, don't get any weird ideas... but consider the chances we've had to kill you. At no risk to ourselves. Consider that you're still here. We think there's a chance you can make the right choice and be a part of civilization and we're sticking our necks out to prove it. Don't make us regret it and you won't be harmed."
I think that's what he said anyway.. long time ago.. close enough! Being a half-giant is way better than being a werewolf. Assuming any of the kids are still listening, he'll hand them each 1 (one) stick of jerky. Even the baby... Voulton's not good with babies.

Rachelle pages through the book, trying to see if any of the bits she had read earlier (which was mostly on the history of some of the towns - this being a book on history and not one on the arts, she couldn't find anything substantial with respect to the kingdom's artistic achievements) had changed substantially on her.
Something still seemed really off about the tower as a whole. Sure, the sword might have just reappeared with Sephora, but why did it seem like everyone had died where they lay... and in this way off tower with little in the way of actual living quarters that she was aware of, too. Was there something the party was just missing, or was this really what time travel does?
...Rachelle makes sure to burn any books on time travel in her personal library when she gets back to it.

Thumbing through her history book, Rachelle finds nothing in the book had changed. Werewolves were still mentioned in abundance, as were the heroes who were known for slaying them. As far as she could tell the book hadn't changed at all.
The werewolf children had been quietly listening to Voulton's speech. At least he thinks they were. It was hard to see them through the food slits her made without putting one's face right up on one of the slits and he didn't trust the kids enough to do that. Still, they did accept his jerky peacefully. Even the baby shoved it right into it's mouth, at which point Tammytharn snatched it right out.
Lynda had been looking over the contents of the box when the idea of getting out of the room had come to her. Try as she did, she couldn't will herself through the wall again.

Lynda takes the contents of the box.
She then goes over and pulls the lever.

The lever doesn't move, even when Lynda tried with all her strength.

Kalar grunts in pain after he slips with the knife he's using to etch the glove he's working on. The glove isn't damaged, but he cut his finger open.
He is absolutely oblivious to the fact that Lynda is missing.
