"You recall the skeleton with the silver arm? He served Vecna, if I recall correctly. And that insect creature we saw previously, he was covered in the same silver substance. And this silver liquid seems to be identical. I was told by my deity that I had to stop you from using that potion as soon as possible.
"I am starting to think that we may be caught up in some Divine battle of sorts. We are going up against one of the Lords of Hell in breaking this curse, so the fact that various Deities are coming into play should not be of much surprise. If you use that potion without us knowing what it does, then the results could be catastrophic. We need to learn what that silvery coating is as soon as possible. I believe it is vitally connected to this curse."

Rachelle had hoped to have given Kalar a stern talking-to, but at this point she realized that he was a brick wall, completely entrenched in his necromantic ways. Did he even realize that he is keeping these children trapped with the skeletons of their family members? Does he care?
...and why is that silver liquid so important to him, anyway?

Tammytharn thinks about what Kalar has said.
"That makes some sense. When I performed my divination last night, I received a startlingly clear message from my god Rao. He told me that the liquid provided a direct conduit to him, but that if I drank it, it would produce results that even he could not anticipate. He also advised me to test small amounts of it first, such as placing some on my holy symbol..."
She holds up the liquid, and looks at it through the bottle.
"I won't experiment with it YET... but Kalar... even though you and I are..." she thinks about saying "Allies", but instead says "...FRIENDS, it seems likely that the gods we worship are enemies. I don't KNOW who you worship, but I doubt that he or she is a friend of Rao. If this liquid IS truly a conduit to the god of whoever uses it, then we need to take care that we don't use it in a way that undermines what we are trying to do.... IF we are caught in a battle between gods, then we need to figure out the actions that best serve the needs of us MORTALS who need to survive that battle."

"From what we know, we are against Prince Levistus, who is a Lord of the Hells. Further, because of recent events and what Helena said, we might perhaps be against Baalzebub as well. I can assure you though, that my deity is as vehemently opposed to Baalzebub as any other deity, if not more so. Our deities may not be allies, but as far as I know, they are not direct enemies. In this endeavor at least, we are not at odds with one another.
"I will not attempt to take the potion, and you have my word that until we know exactly what it does, I will not make any attempts to acquire it from your person. In exchange though, I ask for your word that you do not attempt to use it in any way, again until we know exactly what it does."

The party spent the day at the hamlet. Tammytharn's spells had no effect on the werewolf pups and so the idea of transporting them with the party formed, with Voulton making a cart to haul them around in.
Kalar, after having talked with Tamytharn, went and began making magic items with the gold Lynda found in the chest.
As the sunset, Voulton had completed a simple boxed cart to keep the werechildren in. Kalar had completed a magic item as well. Rachelle had been keeping an eye out and minutes before sunset a large dire bear could be seen dragging two werewolf bodies back into the forest with it.

When it comes time to move the children into Voulton's cart, Tammytharn has a "Calm Emotions" spell ready to help smooth the transition. She also has two "Hold Person" spells ready in case any of them manage to slip away and run again. She has offered them food and water, and is curious if they have taken in. She has listened to see if they have spoken, but has not noticed anything so far all day long. She wonders if the adult werewolves ever bothered to teach the children human speech.
"Did the dire bear notice us? Do you think there are more?" she wonders out loud.

The baby cried off and on all day. It was starting to get to members of the party. Most of them moved away in order to avoid hearing it. As night came, crying turned to whimpering. Tammytharn noticed that the children had begun taking food, but thought that maybe the baby was too young for solid food.
The next day came. Nothing attacked the party in the night but they woke to notice a few more bodies missing. They also noticed a swarm of rats had taken up residence in the hamlet. The rats feasted on the bodies in a disgusting display. Vultures could be seen circling over head and the party knew it was time to move on.
In human form, the children were much easier to handle. With their emotions calmed magically, the party was able to load them into the cart with little trouble. When it came time to load the baby Tammytharn noticed it wasn't looking too good. It had stopped crying and was breathing heavily. A large bruise covered it's face from where Voulton had hit it before. Without help, Tammytharn knew the baby wouldn't survive till tomorrow.

Tammytharn casts Cure Light Wounds on the baby. She decides to carry it for now, rather than putting it in the cart. She had anticipated this problem, and had prepared two castings of "Create Food and Water". She uses one to make some milk, and tried to get the baby to drink some of it from an empty potion bottle.
She is not so worried about getting bitten again. Even in wolf form, the Baby's teeth are pretty small, and she has already been bitten twice. She will deal with the infection next month.
She is more than a little bit worried about getting attached.

As the party left the broken down hamlet, Tammytharn nursed the baby werewolf back to health. She was delighted when it began drinking the milk she conjured up. It might survive after all. The other children seemed less aggressive now and more depressed. They sat huddled together in their wooden cell as Kalar's minions pushed them along.
They cross back through the battle ground where the manticores had been killed and found that none of the manticore bodies were still there. They met no resistances on the way back to the portal through time and by the end of the day found themselves back in the large clearing. Voulton looked over at where he had dug up the ground to plant acorns to find that the ground had been returned to the way it was before he dug it up. Fresh grass grew over the areas where he planted the acorns. The nature of this clearing seemed more magical than ever to him then. The party gathered at the archway and prepared to cross through. The portal sprung to life as they approached. On the other side they could see the clearing that was once full of werewolves and saw that a few werewolves could still be seen darting around the forest just outside of the clearing.

Tammytharn looks curiously at the werewolves in the forest beyond the clearing.
"Does that mean that there are others that we missed? Or that the time-travel magic isn't string enough to change the present in that way?"
She wonders what will happen when they bring the children through the portal. Will it even be possible to bring them back?
"I want to talk to Lady Sephora with a Sending spell before I climb back up her tower."
She takes a deep breath, and walks through the portal to the present, carrying the baby with her.
