"Wait, sword. Skeletons are extremely weak, and should that one be killed, you'd be at a disadvantage. Tell me, how does taking control of a vampire or a mohrg sound to you? I'm sure that would be far more interesting than a mere skeleton."

The skeleton wielding the magic sword stops and turns around to address Kalar. "Your tricks will not work on me. A powerful vampire might instead overwhelm me and make me a slave again. This skeleton is perfect. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find something to stab."

"Sword, I am a necromancer, I can guarantee you that that will not happen. Though if you do not want a vampire, then we can bargain for something else. That skeleton is weak. But once I regain my magical abilities, I can create you a far better skeleton. One with far greater physical strength. And why bother with a human skeleton? I could create for you the skeleton of an ogre or a troll. I guarantee this, in exchange for your aid. And if you follow our party, I can guarantee you ample opportunity to stab things. And with others beside you to ensure you survive, and that you can continue stabbing things."

Lynda sighs inwardly.
"As much as I don't want to get involved again, I kind of do." Lynda thinks to herself. Lynda enters the room, and begins to attempt to separate Charles and Madeline.

Lynda rushes in and tackles Madeline. She's tries to keep a hold of Madeline but Madeline seems to be stronger and wrestles Lynda off of her and continues attacking Charles. Charles seems to be gasping for life at this point, he's clearly taken a beating and is close to death. Lynda struggles to pull Madeline off of him. Out of the corner of her eye, Lynda can see Simon praying to his shrine. He hasn't turned his attention towards the fight just yet.
The sword laughs. "Just tell me what you want werewolf. I might just do it for you. But traveling with you is likely to get me enslaved again despite what you are currently saying or even your best interests. That is what I believe. However, if there is something I can do for you I might do it for giving me this body. So, out with it."

Kalar knows when he is defeated. Still, hopefully it won't be all for naught.
"Very well, I know when to concede. But before I ask, I believe it would be fair to know first what you are capable of granting."

Lynda attempts to tie up Madeline, and drag her out of Simon's view.

Madeline fights against Lynda's holds. Lynda is completely unsuccessful in grappling her away from Charles. Simon seems to be ending his prays.
The sword answers, "I can detect magic, finds traps and identify items. Which will it be?"

"What about information?"

Lynda sighs to herself.
"Not this again..." She thinks.
She takes out her scepter, and tries to beat Madeline over the head with it, attempting to knock her out.

The sword replies, "I'll answer any question I can. Knowing things is what I do best."
Lynda begins beating Madeline. Gobs of blood and flesh burst from her head, but her death grip on Charles remains. Charles doesn't seem conscious. Simon has stood up and is looking through the door at the fight with a surprised look on his face.

"Hmm, very well. One question, for that one body. What is the nature and history of this castle?"

Lynda takes out her dagger.
"I killed you once, and I sure as hell can kill you again!"
She begins to attack Madeline.

The sword responds, "That is a rather vague question. I could answer it very simply or I could talk your ear off for days. Why don't you narrow it down a bit."
Simon bursts into the room. "Get off my brother and sister you tramp!" he yells. Then he casts a deadly looking spell that fizzles as it nears Lynda. Simon looks shocked. Madeline and Charles both look close to dead.

"Hmm, very well then... What was the curse placed on this castle? And what is on the other side of the Gate of Silver Keys that is supposed to aid in breaking that curse?"
