"Hm, guess this was the room Claude mentioned." Lynda thinks to herself.

She then decides to peer in to the door immediately to her left.

Lynda opens yet another door. The floor of this large room is wood parquet. The acoustics in this room are excellent. In the center of the north wall is a balcony. You notice several musical instruments lying on the balcony. Then, hearing a rattling sound coming from above, Lynda looks up. Swinging from a large chandelier in the center of the room is a small, hairy, misshapen figure dressed in the clothing of a court jester. He holds the ends of three long chains. The chains are connected to iron collars around the necks of three white furred apes who all drop to the floor.
"All Clovers must die!" cries the misshapen ape man.

Kalar hears the commotion and heads for where Lynda went.

"Hrulgin, try paralyzing whoever shouted that threat. If you can infect any of them with ghoul fever, try it. Tammy, get ready to heal injuries."

With no magic at his disposal, Kalar is slightly concerned about what he'll do. He figures that he'll decide on something once he sees what they're up against.

*Kalar asked Hrulgin to use his bite attack as he is unaware of the ghoul's backstory

"Oh no." Lynda thinks. "Claude said that I'm dressed as a Clover. Whatever that thing is, I bet it's going to want to kill me..."

Lynda draws her bow and aims at the ape man on the chandelier. She doesn't fire, however, but merely readies herself. She also keeps an eye on the apes that just dropped to the floor.

"You! On the chandelier! We are adventurers, not Clovers!" She shouts. "Who are you, and what are you doing with those apes!"

The little ape on seems to cast a spell and a magical effect washes over Lynda. This is of course completely ignored. The little ape looks confused.
"Who? Who? Who are you?" None of the apes approach.
Hrulgin tries to find a way to get up tot he little ape on the chandelier. Then looks back at Kalar and shrugs.

Rachelle and Galse relaxed back int he lab. They heard squeaking coming from the walls. A few rats entered the room through tiny holes int he walls.

Galse gives the rats his patented "Don't start nothin, won't be nothin" squint.

Kalar looks around, readying his tower shield for any attacks. He eschews his war pick though, and readies his claws.

He says to Hrulgin, "I'll see if I can get that guy down from up there. If I do, pounce on him and paralyze him. We'll question him later. And if you can infect any of these apes, go for it."

Rachelle and Galse didn't think much of the rats as they scurried around. The rats were likely here first after all, they thought. But then they watched as one of the rats walked within an inch of the trap trigger that sets off the sleeping gas. More rats joined the rats that were already in the room. Each rat a potential trap springer. Rachelle and Galse wondered if they were heavy enough to trigger the trap.

Galse, WHO DID NOT REALIZE THERE WAS A DANGEROUS TRAP IN THE ROOM WHERE WE WERE CAMPING, HOLY slime WHAT IS THIS AMATEUR HOUR megaslime, DOES THIS PARTY HAVE A DEATHWISH?! will climb the ladder and chill out up there. He's tempted to knock the rats out to prevent catastrophe, but that might cause a panic and inspire them to trigger the trap. He's taking the food with him.

"Why are you going up the ladder? What about the room that had the Warforged in it?" Rachelle asked Galse. She wasn't affected by the sleeping gas, of course, but it probably wasn't ideal to let someone get a second dose of it.

Plus, moving the food over to the other room would be easier than trying to get it up that ladder.

She got Thistlewhistle off the table where he'd be lying and started to move him off to the other room.

Galse shrugs and helps drag Thistlewhistle. That logic about the ladder is good stuff. "Been guardin the rear too long, don't know my way around." he says, to no one in particular.

Hrulgin didnt fear death, so when Kalar said to paralyze the apes on the ground he knew he was going to do just that. Lynda stood in the doorway but Hrulgin ran right by. Before Lynda could continue talking things out with the little ape, Hrulgin struck one of the apes. His attack seemed to do the job and paralyze the thing despite it's large size. The other two attacked by, smashing their fists into Hrulgin, battering him horribly.

Hrulgin takes 8 and 11 dmg

Meanwhile, Galse and Rachelle pull Thistlewhistle out of the room. They set up in the room nearby that seems to have no traps, but plenty of war forged parts and caldrons. Galse eyes the two empty caldrons. They seem very clean and ready to be used. Across the hall, they hear the door to the lab snap shut.

Seeing his companion taking so much damage, Kalar shouts "Hrulgin, get out of there, stay behind me!"

Finding it much harder to keep a hold on his temper what with the werewolf rage rushing through his head, Kalar roars out a challenge, rushing at the apes. He does, however, manage to keep enough of his head about him to not go completely berserk. He manages to focus enough to ensure that he's defending himself well in his mad attack.

He tears at the closest ape with his claws, while protecting himself from the other with his tower shield.

Lynda, seeing Kalar attack, looses her arrows. All but one hits its mark, into the ape on Kalar's right.
Kalar himself attacks the same one, but is too busy defending against the other ones to land a hit. He does manage to not get hit back and Hrulgin retreats to Lynda's side.
Tammytharn sees Kalar and Lynda attacking apes in the room Lynda just opened. She tried to think of her best move.
The little ape hanging from the ceiling casts a spell at Kalar, but Kalar shakes off the effects. The little ape looks mad.

Lynda deals 12 dmg

That damned ape is getting on Kalar's nerves, and rip! tear! it's going to be a lot of trouble if they can't b l o o d ! get him down and...

Kalar shakes his head, trying to clear the bloodlust, fighting to suppress the werewolf in him. He continues tearing at the apes while defending.

"Lynda! Shoot the one in the chandelier down!"
