Yo Ghost (Or, what does the OHR mean to you?)
Yeah, yeah, I know it's old and tired now, and the game is entirely stupid. But when I introduced my friend, Chris Davison, to the OHR and he began working on that game with my guidance, it created an entire set of memories that are very sentimental and fun to me. Especially his posts on the CastleParadox forums: those make me laugh like nothing else.
Although my emotional attachment to the engine is LOT deeper than that: I have very fond memories of browsing through OHR games (looking specifically for the hilariously bad ones, like Virtua School and those horrid DBZ games) to play because my dial-up Internet and crummy computer limited me to just a few choices. So, the OHR was this sort of gold-mine of entertainment for me and my brother. In fact, I still get a huge kick out of just thinking about some of the games I used to play in desperate search for something fun, and it's beautiful.
So, what about you? What kind of sentiments do you associate with the OHR?

BUT, MASTER K.... DID YOU GET HIS PERMISSION?
YO GHOST DON'T LIKE BEING PUT INTO OTHER GAMES. WHEN HE COMES BACK INTO THE REALM OF THE YO GHOSTS, HE MAY CARRY A VIRUS THAT WILL WIPE OUT THE ENTIRE YO GHOST RACE . ...OR EVEN WORSE, HE MIGHT RUN INTO SOME TOILET PAPER.
@The Wobbly Wobbler: I didn't even know you made a video related to Yo Ghost! Man, if you can dig that up, I'll be sure to show it to Chris for you.

The .BAM version of the Soldier's Chorus from Faust (FAUST.BAM) playing on a SB-compatible soundcard in DOS will be permanently recorded in the back of my mind for the rest of my life. I dunno what it is, I always just really, really loved that version for some reason.
By the way, I found a way to get MIDI playback that's very similar to old Adlib/SB music in Windows 7, instead of the lamesauce Microsoft GS Wavetable MIDI. If anyone would like some links and info on how to set it up (it is a little time consuming), let me know.

I've grown to love the Yo Ghost meme, but it's weird because I also really do miss those slimy old DBZ things. This community means a lot of different things to me, a lot of which I'm sure would sound stupid if I said them, but I love you clowns. This is a great community. Literally don't know where I'd be without it. I realize how pathetic that is, but it's true. You guys sliming rule

Haha! Makes me recall the old days when "LOME Productions" was a thing! XD
I remember when my bro and I got flack for that (rightfully so) and the slime-tastic games we made!
Some good times, indeed!

"One can never improve enough nor should one stop trying to improve."
Yeah, Zant (I started when I was 12 too and would reply to every thread amnd then come back 30 min later and do it again; the glory of internet forums! There's no evidence left, but surely that implies 95% of what I posted was garbage. I think we were racing to get the highest post count) and IRC.Gizmog wrote:I've always missed the old Zant forums too. I'm sure everyone involved is probably embarassed to remember by now, but there were some great philosophical debates and some good shitposting too. Somehow, the community has never felt quite as fun as it did back then, though maybe not being 12 helps.
