Some kind of 3DS thread until we have games to talk about

Talk about things that are not making games here. But you should also make games!

In anticipation for the future, is anyone here going to attend E3 2011 this June? It'd be swell to get some first-hand testimony over what 3DS games Nintendo's actually working on.

- To say you're only paying for 3D is also incorrect; it's also an enormous step up graphically. Whereas DS was somewhere below the N64 graphically, 3DS is a bit better than the Wii - that's an improvement of more than two console generations.

All that said, the launch titles kind of suck; don't rush out and buy a 3DS. (I am having a lot of fun with Pilotwings Resort, though. If you enjoyed the plane game on Wii Sports Resort, this is a must-buy.)
Yeah, but truthfully the graphics don't look substantially better than a PSP, and that is an old system that you can grab for about $100 these days (maybe a little more, but you get my point).
And I really don't see the graphics looking much better than the Wii, especially since their "hardcore" upcoming games seem to be upgraded N64 ports.
But again, I don't own either a 3DS or a Wii, so I could be totally wrong; I'm going off videos and screen captures.
And I know they can get away with charging that for the 3D; 3D is all the rage now for whatever reason. I'm not saying the system is bad at all, I'm just saying it is atrociously overpriced, especially as someone who already owns a DSLite.
The demo I played of Pilot wings was great, though, I will certainly give you that. I'm curious what they'll do with the system (new Mario?) but for now it really doesn't hold my interest.
I wish somehow they'd made Pokemon Black/White have 3D support. That might have tipped the scales a little further for me. :P

I have a sneaking suspicion that Gray will be 3DS. (The cartridges aren't backwards-compatible, by the way - you can't play a 3DS game on a DS.)

Let's add more hype to Cave Story Cave Story Cave Story

So I tried a 3DS demo at gamestop today. I can imagine the 3D thing getting a bit annoying, since I constantly had to adjust my position to get it looking normal, but that might have been due to me standing straight and working with a tethered-to-the-platform demo unit. Very uncomfortable. It'll probably look a lot better when it's just a foot or two from my face in the car or in bed. Not terribly important, since the games look fine and dandy with the 3D disabled.
Also I hate the start/select buttons, they'd better change that when they make the next model. I swear I'd end up turning the power off by accident a few times, which would be quite frustrating.
Unimportant: My friend ragged on me for picking Zangief during the Street Fighter demo.

this looks awesome. i take it that it's a 3D port of the game, and not a sequel? (oh wait, it says remake, duh.)

i wonder what new content they have planned. hopefully more weapons. and they better not have nerfed my Bubbler, dammit!!
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy... So here's some lunchmeat... Sandwich, maybe?

Your friend's a big baby and Zangief's very easily countered in SF4.

The article mentions a high possibility of some new levels, and I saw Igor's ID Card as an item. No word on new weapons or characters, though. Don't be surprised if Balrog's catchphrase changes again.

Considering I just had to replace my PC's power supply and new get new speakers I won't be getting one of these any time soon. To be hoenst, though, I've not been too impressed with Nintendo's systems game libraries for years now. I enjoyed my DS for a little while but it's been sitting on a hself for the last nine months untouched. Plus, I don't really have the cash to blow on PC games, a console system, AND a handheld system.

My cousin bought one of these for his son (so he says) and was showing off at Easter. I didn't play it that much but whatever game it was didn't make me want to rush out and buy one. I also just found out that you can play NES roms on a DS so that just extended that unit's purpose for a little longer.

Hate to say it, but the Vita looks better now. Nintendo will still probably outsell it on name/historical value, but Sony's totally convinced me at this point.

Return of the tanooki suit makes me super happy. Now I'm starting to consider buying a 3DS, though the price will need to drop below $100 before I'll do that.

None of the screenshots appear to be in Image, so this is almost certainly not another Galaxy game. It looks like a happy mix between the old and the new, the 2D and the 3D. Also hey there Boom-Boom, haven't seen you in forever!

No offense but it's kind of annoying to decipher your jokes just to figure out what you're trying to say.

Super Duper Mario
