Relieved, Vire pockets the stone. He then selects a different glowing stone and attempts to smash it to bits. Having some difficulty, he orders Ribbon to do the same.

After a few good whacks, Vire smashes one of the gems. I blinding light fills the room for a brief moment. A man now stands in front of Vire.
He seems confused by the presence of Vire, Ribbon, and the wagon.

The man looks down at the kobold in front of him and blinks a few times, just to make sure.
He looks to his right hand only to find an empty palm.
Puzzled, he strokes his goatee.
He gently knocks on the top of his head and flashes momentarily, reappearing equipped with a pointy hat and robe of red decorated with white flames.
He walks past the Kobold, patting him on the head before moving towards some other gems.
For the DM:
Everything italicized is a bluff (+8) or an illusion (Disguise +20).
He looks to his right hand only to find an empty palm.
Puzzled, he strokes his goatee.

Ignoring the subdual damage inflicted by Vire, "Cile" picks up a Gem. He now hold one of the glowing gems.

A lucky throw lands the gem on the tip of a sharp pointy part of the side of the cave and the gem shatters.
A bright flash of light, then Lao appears.
Picking up a gem in this room is the last thing that he remembers, the kobold, tielfing and Ox are all new.

Lao looks around the room, dazed, and slightly confused. He remembers traveling with his previous companions to this cave, and seeing a bright flash of light as he picked up one of the gems. Upon seeing the kobold and tiefling in front of him, he readies himself in a fighting stance, then charges. However, he stumbles to a halt as he recognizes his former companion, Cile Olidammaran. Snickering at his newest disguise, Lao speaks to Cile.
Turning to the kobold and tiefling, he speaks to them without waiting for Cile's response.Lao Tsung wrote:"Cile, what happened? The last thing I remember is that we picked up one of these gems. Now, these creatures stand in front of us. Do you know them? Or did they have something to do with our disappearance?"
