The dragon roars in anger at it's misstep. Just as it roars, Vire send his next Scorching ray right in it's mouth. The dragon writhes in pain from the burn of the ray. (60 damage)

Ehaism tries to take advantage of the dragon's writhing. His sword slashes across the white creatures leg. (7 dmg)

Ribbon, unafraid of the dragon, skips forward and stabs the dragon in the side releasing a bit of her psionic energy. (16 dmg)

Kytana's shot rings out and sticks into the neck of the foul beast. A little deeper and the arrow might have hit a vital artery. The dragon doesn't look too please about this hit. (13 dmg)

Giving the party a quick overview. The dragon takes a step back. At first it seems to be retreating a bit, but then it becomes clear that it only planned to get 1 more person into it's cone of cold. The dragon breaths an icy breath on Ehaism, Kytana, and Ribbon. Ribbon manages to avoid most of the dragons breath weapon, but still feels the icy sting of the cold air around it. (12 dmg)
Ehaism and Kytana both fail to avoid the wave of ice and are barraged by the full force of it. ( 24 dmg)
Kytana falls.

Their friend has fallen. Can Vire, Ehaism and Ribbon defeat the dragon before it claims another victim?

Vire fires his last Scorching Ray for the day, hoping that he lives to regret blowing all of his spells if it comes to that.

Ehaism steps forward and slices a hunk of scales off the dragons belly. (11 dmg)

Vire steps forward to get a clean shot with his Scorching ray. He fires and the ray hits. But the magic of the ray seems to be nullified by the dragon's magical aura, and has no effect.

The dragon looks like it's barely holding together.
Can Ribbon make a difference? Or will the dragon get yet another devastating turn.

Ribbon, thinking tactically, runs up to the cave entrance, staying ten feet away from the dragon. Hugging the right side of the cave entrance so that another breath attack can't hit the whole part again, she stabs the dragon with her trident.

In a moment of tactical clarity, Ribbon circles around the dragon in order to flank it. The dragon never even sees the blow that kills it. Ribbon's trident completed impales the dragons neck. It writhes around in a panic but quickly stops moving altogether. (10 dmg)
The dragon is dead.

As Ehaism's Rage subsides, he is in a world of hurt. The places were he was burned a few days ago have now all been frozen. He has little doubt that the scars on his skin and scales from this adventure will not disappear at next molting season, nor likely the one after that. He is glad to be in a profession where scars improve credibility.

Ehaism is impressed by Ribbon's killing blow.

To Vire, Ehaism says in Draconic,
Look at that! And you didn't want to bring her along!

Then in common he says;
Ehaism wrote:And a fat lot of good you were with that worthless wand.
Thinking only of the last failed attack, and choosing to ingore the devastating blast from just moments before.

And to Kytana (who's face seems strangely blue) Ehaism calls contemptuously,
Ehaism wrote:Get up, lazy halfling! You don't see me sleeping in battle do you? Stop making such a dramatic show of being injured!

The party stands victorious on the battleground where they faced their most dangerous enemy to date and lived to tell the tale. Though the party tries, they're friend, Kytana, passes due to wounds caused by the dragon's evil breath weapon. The party mourns this loss and is in a state of unease in the knowledge that it could have easily been anyone of of them that perished.
The ox and wagon, though far, could still been seen after the battle, and without the terror caused by the dragon's frightful pressense, the ox stops running and now stands a couple hundred feet away from the party.
Kytana's body is honored in the way the party found most fitting given the tools and knowledge at hand. A make shift memorial is placed at the scene of his death as a reminder of his glory.
Wounded and tired, the party returns to their camp, that was so thoughtlessly disturbed by the dragon moments ago.

A new day breaks, and the party is fully rested and receives the rewards of their bandaging collaborations. Not yet at their peak physical health, the party must choose whether to venture forward, into the evil cave that may contain more threaten challenges than they have ever faced, to remain in camp until they have reached a state of full recovery, or to abandon the crazy dwarf's plan to reach an unguarded dragon's horde that seems to have found at least one guard in the months the dwarf had been away.

Ehaism sits and looks at the place were Kytana died. He didn't like Kytana very much... but he finds himself upset all the same. he tells himself that this is only because Ehaism himself could have been the one to die.

Vire is the old member of the old gang still alive... Ehaism can't decide whether or not that makes Vire his best friend or now. Stupid Vire. This is all his fault... somehow.

When the question of resting longer is broached, Ehaism says:
Ehaism wrote:What else could possibly be down in there that the Dragon wouldn't have already killed?

The adventurers begin to venture forth!
The cave is pitch black a few steps in. Vire and Ehaism's darkvision allow them to view the area around them, but Ribbon can't see.
