THE CAMPAIGN: Chapter 1-"The Dragons in the Desert"

Kytana's arrow sails through the air. It strikes the Thri-kreen's head and shucks away a large part of it's exo-skeleton there. A liquid that most likely contains brain matter starts to spill out of the creatures head before it even hits the ground. Upon hitting the ground, a gush of the liquid rushes out and drips down the side of the cliff.

Gregor, although hurt, is in a good mood. All of the dread bug people are almost dead. The last one seems to be getting ready to square off with the largest of his body guards. Things seem pretty much over and his wounds aren't as bad as he thought when he first received them. The oxen is calm.

The final Thri-kreen, quickly glances around at his fallen friends. All dead in a matter of moments. This is not how things were meant to go. The thought of running never even enters his mind. He lunges forward at the biggest target he can find, hoping to take one of the cruel beings that stole his friends with him to the after life.

A splash of blood covers the thri-kreens face. It would smile if it knew what that was or had the proper facial body parts to do so. His attack hit. (Ehaism takes 4 damage )



Can Ehaism end this crazy fight once and for all?!

[Bob the Hamster]

Ehaism doesn't even flinch at the wound the Thri-Kreen gives him. What is one more little scratch in the heat of battle. With rage in his eyes (but still holding back and containing his Rage), Ehaism attacks the creature, He swings from right to left, because he does not want to accidentally knock the thri-kreen off the ledge, lest it survive the fall and somebody else get the pleasure of killing it. Ehaism did not climb all the way up that cliff to not kill something!

[Spoonweaver]

(10 points of damage.)

That's how much Ehaism's sword did when it gouged into the Thri-kreen's chest. There wasn't a single Thri-kreen stirring now. The battle was won.



Everyone earns 620 experience.

You find on the dead Thri-kreen:

12 Javelins
8 Loin Clothes
7 Longspears
And a large unlocked Chest containing:
6721 copper
452 silver
168 gold
Full Plate Armor

Gravity. We meet again.

Ribbon pulls herself off the ground and takes stock of the situation.

Did we win? We didn't lose, right?

[Bob the Hamster]

Ehaism gently kicks the dead thri-kreen off the edge of the cliff. Then he walks to the one south of him and does the same thing. Then he climbs back down.

[Spoonweaver]

The Ehaism notices the aforementioned chest off to the side on top of the cliff with him. It's open.

[Bob the Hamster]

Ehaism takes the gold coins. He doesn't really want to carry the rest of it around.

there is a box of copper junk up here. Should we even bother loading it on the wagon?

[Mogri]

If it's money, load it up. That's why we're here, nesska?

Vire gestures towards the armored thri-kreen and addresses Ehaism.

This one's got a full suit of armor. It's in pretty good shape, too.

[Momoka]

That's a "we won", right? Good! Yeah.

Ribbon looks around at all the dead Thri-kreen, and kicks one gently.

Take that! I hope you learned something from all this.

[Bob the Hamster]

Ehaism drags the chest of 6721 copper and 452 silver over to the ledge, closes the lid carefully (so hopefully it won't burst open when he throws it)

Ehaism scowls at the armor that Vire indicated.

Will that even fit me, sart thurirl?

and then he tosses the chest down on to the back of the wagon.

[Spoonweaver]

The chest does indeed burst open. Coins scatter everywhere. Several supplies are also damaged in the process.
Gregor looks up at the lizard puzzled, as if not believing the reality of what just took place. The elf lady, looks annoyed, as she was showered with several coins.

(As a point of interest, the suit of armor was in the chest. It made for a human, and thus would not fit the thri-kreens. Nor would it fit Ehaism, unless certain alterations were made, namely a tail hole. )

[Bob the Hamster]

Ehaism laughs wildly at the shower of small coins covering everything around the wagon.

Why do you care about the copper, Dwarf? I thought you said there was a dragon's hoard of gold ahead of us?

Ehaism starts to climb down.

Is that ox dead?

[Spoonweaver]

Gregor finishes patching himself up the best he can. The meaning behind the loss of the ox starts setting in and he grows very concerned.

Yes, the ox is dead alright. I'd rather it of been one of you honestly. Without 2 oxen we won't be able to haul both wagons without working the remaining beast to death. That or we could take things slow and make the trip last twice as long. Either way we're going to be without enough supplies for the return trip. Coin is surely to be had where we're going, but I doubt there will be any food to speak of let alone water. Of course, we'd have water problems either way, since one of the water barrels just got crushed under a box of useless junk.

Gregor mills about, seeming to be trying to think up a plan of action.

[Mogri]

Vire hisses.

This is more trouble than we bargained for anyway. Let's take what we got and go.

[Bob the Hamster]

Finishing his climb down, Ehaism moves to remove the dead ox form the harness. he is careful not to damage the harness in the process.

You want to go home? Xsio! You think these handfuls of copper are worth it? Worth losing Echo over?

Stop acting like you are still the leader, dwarf. You are my walking map. Now I am going to help that ox pull these wagons until we get out of this narrow canyon, and then we will leave behind the second wagon.
