Ehaism gets up and leaves also.... although since he wasn't really following any part of the conversation, he leaves by the front door, not the back door where the Dwarf went. He is still picking his teeth with the horse bone.
After collecting together everything they think they'll need for the trip, and explaining the situation to Ehaism, the group meets up with Gregor and they all start off on their journey. It's not long before they are in the open desert, on their way to the dragon's horde.
The sun shines too brightly for Vire, and he relies on Liev to do much of his seeing. Vire hates it here and regrets coming. Night can't come soon enough.
Almost on cue after the parties' comments about the heat, Liev spots a Fire in the distance. The party quickly sees it too as it seems to be getting closer, as if meaning to attack.
Echo wrote:This is the most aggressive desert I've ever seen. And yet, I'm still glad we came. En garde, folks!
Echo uses his Precognition to prepare for the upcoming danger, shifting into "Wise Seer" mode, and readies and action to fire a full-blast ice-type Energy Ray at the first thing that looks like it deserves one.
Echo forsees: That he may play a pivotal part in the slaying of this beast.
The Fire rushes toward you with a burst of speed. It's fairly close now. You can make out an odd looking face in the flame. It's looking at you menacingly.
Vire curses himself for taking this voyage again. Only his weakest spells would be effective against such a monster, and even then only for a flexible definition of "effective." He retreats east and summons a fiendish small viper, hoping that its fire resistance will make it last at least a little while before turning to ash.
