Castle Clover: METACHAT
So, what's the deal with the wand? I thought the plan was laid out pretty clearly, and I don't know how much it really changes the situation, but this was kind of a shock and awe campaign. There was supposed to be so many things happening at once that the Inquisitors would have trouble choosing what, exactly, to do and that might've opened the possibility for better sneak attack.
If there's some in character reason it didn't go off, I'm okay, but this is the second time so far that weird slime like that has happened. Harvey got left on a street corner after asking if we should follow them, and now when a plan was agreed on, it didn't work out the way we had laid out?
I realize it wasn't the best of plans, which is why Harvey was trying to talk Rob out of it, and I'm willing to face the consequences and all, just confused what's goin on.

Ah, right. So, here's what's up.
Rob rode off and used the light spell. I rolled spot checks to see if the dudes saw it. they didn't. Remember, there's light from the city to contend with plus there are a number of trees and rocks to get in the way.
Sorry I didn't mean not to mention that the light spell worked yet wasn't seen. The light spell is currently functioning.
I'll edit the post a bit to confirm.
As for before, Harvey wasn't left on the street corner. You both chased after them but after they begun to get away, Rob rode ahead. Jame had posted about his plan to do so and meet you somewhere after.
EDIT: I see that the posts got a little ahead of me there. Hmm... My fault for not being clearer. I'll try to come up with a good reason the light wand didn't activate. I apologize.

Okay, I get it. I thought it might be something like that, especially when BMR explained to me that the spell was just light. Well explained and we're all on the same page. and doomed.. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
EDIT: Oh and lemme know when the Chameleon spell wears off. Awesome!

DOUBLE POST: Now that we know it's the Kobold, feel free to use the potion of time travel! We've got two of 'em now, right? Send somebody back, they leave a note about the Kobold, Dan's your daddy, we're the best damn heroes there is!
EDIT: Fenrir brings up a good point.. we don't know which direction the potion will take us.

Incidentally, what's the plan of attack once Kalar and Harvey are inside? Kalar taking point and tanking (using expertise for AC 31) while Harvey watches from behind and shoots anything that moves as they go along? If so, and if we're really committing to this, then going to have a readied action so that the very second Kalar sees someone cleric-y looking, he'll throw up a Bleakness (+4 turn resist for overall +6, magical darkness in a 20-ft radius, fast healing 3 for undead, 1d6 damage per round to all living) around himself. Hopefully, the +1 to saving all divine spells will come in handy.
Also, what is our end goal here? Infiltrate, find the dude before he goes beast, kill him, and then extract as quickly as possible?

Our plan in this hideout is to basically ask the question "Where's the kobold?" I'm assuming it's some kind of thieves guild sort of set-up, and that someone will know of a kobold. Ideally we'll get in and out without killing anyone, but I could be terribly terribly wrong. This could be the basement in question.. at which point we'll investigate the dead guy... or flee from the inquisition!
The ultimate goal of the "plan", with plan being rather a loose term, is to try to end this kobold before he ends the town. If he has the ring, all the better. After that, yes, a swift extraction would be in order.

I was hoping someone would say "I don't know what the hell a Kobold is, but another guy was asking about that just now..."Gizmog wrote:Great minds thinking alike. Hell yesAs soon as Rob spots any townsperson, he will ask in the most charming tone he can muster "Excuse me, good Sir/Lady, which way to the Kobold?"
