BMR wrote:If that tower with the single window is where the beast is, then I propose a plan:
  1. Harvey flies up in sight of the window, using the darkness to blend in with the night.
  2. When Harvey sees someone, anyone, inside the tower through the window, snipe him.
What do you guys think?
Harvey can't see through that magical darkness though, right? Meaning he can either see what's going on in the window OR be floating around town? We also don't know for sure that the ring will be in there and waiting till nightfall cuts our time for detective work in half.

Don't forget, we got some awesome sneaking equipment from Jehan. If someone put that stuff on, we could try to stealth it. Kalar could still provide air supports and nukes, while Rob or Rachelle joined Harvey inside the building. Rob could talk his way into/out of trouble, either inside or with the inevitable Inquisition response. Lynda's gotta keep the amulet on, which means the sneaking equipment wouldn't do her any good... and that maybe we oughta borrow any of her magical stuff that might be helpful.

Don't forget too what Dan said. If they realize we're making a frontal-assault on the Ringbearer, we're going to be up to our slimeholes in Azedarcs.

Ultimately, what we need is information. How to get that information without flat-out asking "Hey, anyone seen a monk with a ring? We got a safety recall on them things, gotta take it back to the factory for repairs before Mr. Monk has to learn the Way Of The 9 Fingers, you know what I mean?" I don't know.

Rob took Glibness at his last level up, so he may very well be able to talk his way into the building as a ring-inspector :)

I was surprised when Kalar's friend "Jack" vanished. I wonder if that means:

A) He was an illusion to spy on us (seems narratively implausible)

B) He walked across the edge of whatever enchantment Dan put in place to buy us time in Perigon

I was betting on B myself.. though there is a C) The guy was real, but something he was going to warn us about set off an alarm at HQ and they magically pulled his slime out of there. Is there a magical way to guard secrets like that?

Whatever happened to him, we will all miss Jack. I was looking forward to him joining Kalar's skeleton corps :)

Was looking forward to offing him and then keeping him as a mobile Speak With Dead information bank, hehe.

As for the darkness, Kalar can cast a spell that allows people to see through magical darkness, if that helps. We'd need to go after midnight though, Kalar's pretty much gone through a third of his spells.

IF the beast is part werewolf, we might be able to kill him in his human form, the same way we ganked Namphoodle and what's his face (I think that's what Spoony is hinting at.) We might also want to buy some silver arrows and slime, just in case.

Guys, we have to remember. We're playing for more than us. If we die, the campaign dies. And if the campaign dies, that ENORMOUS THREAD dies with it! We can't let the thread down. It must grow, until its bigger than the rest of the forum put together. Now who's with me? Who wants to amke this thread last... FOREVERR!!!!?

So it seems we might be trapped in a little bubble and fleeing is not an option. Fun times ahead :P

Hasn't that always been the case?

EDIT: Also, should Rob and Harvey try to take out the two remaining inquisitors in the clearing, or should they break contact and try to ambush the other other two before they ambush the party?

EDIT EDIT: OR Should Rob and HArvey return to the weird alley now that they have an Inquisitor's Badge and try to get that ring before Meteor comes town?

He quickly retreated, but before he did, he noticed a large ball of fire and rock above him in the mist. It seemed to be hurtling towards him.
That meteor sounds far more imminent than Azedarc and the Inquisition made it seem! Am I the only one thinking we might want to GTFO out of GTFOville?

It sounds a bit like the city being meteored and the city being destroyed by the kobold were two separate events.
Still, the group should really be getting a move on with finding the ring.
