It'd be much more fun to do a Magic only run (I am playing the NES version), but I was interested to see what people choose for me without much knowledge of how well each class does. The fact that I would need to do special challenges (no magic? Really? Magic is too interesting to give up) just to a...

Customize my next FF1 playthrough.
I beat FF1 again last night, with the party of Ninja/Ninja/Black Wizard/White Wizard. The characters ranged from levels 28/29 at the end, but they were under level 20 for the vast majority of the game. I can remember some games like Earthbound Zero and Final Fantasy having enormous worlds to explore, along with the occasional sprawling dungeon, and neither were terribly fun to explore since I kept getting interrupted by monsters. I haven't played Earthbound Zero, but FF's encounter rate isn't as ...

By the way, from what I learned from working on my demo Hedgemaze in terms of dungeon layout: 1) OHR maps are a lot smaller than you think. 2) It's hard to make a map that isn't a straight line. 2a) Stairs are awesome to help this without being too convoluted (see Tales of the New World 2 for a grea...

Doing some research. So far I've found:
http://paintbrush.sourceforge.net/ - An MS Paint Clone
And a program called Acorn whose biggest feature is its price tag.
Grafx2 apparently works on Mac OS X, so that's probably the best program.

Something I noticed while making some sound effects.
I notice that menu/accept/cancel sound effects don't play in battles when you're navigating battle menus.
Unless there's an option I missed.
