I feel like I knew what I wanted to say better before I gave it twenty more pity minutes, but Ramble Planet is my lastest conquest. I don't feel like the review really expresses how frustrating it is to be dropped into the middle of something like this and be expected to find a logical narrative to ...

2014 In Review: Ramble Planet

To me, the word that describes Ramble Planet is "bewildering". To fully explain it, I think have to dig up some history. One of Willy Electrix's previous games was a Privateer-like called Dreg Sector. In Dreg Sector, there seemed to be a very definite order in which you had to go about thi...

What is it with these people and the instant aggression? Surely the party isn't ill-mannered enough to deserve these constant attacks. No use thinking about it now... and those vermin cannot be allowed near our precious rations. "To the door! A fighting withdrawal! I *KNEW* we had no business ...

I really want to play the entries before I vote on them. I'm hoping to complete my reviews before the end of voting, which you've graciously extended to the 19th. That's going to help a lot. If I think I'm getting behind, I might rush the RPGish reviews, but as of now my intention is to vote.

Galse is going to be sure to keep a closer eye on Silas. Anyone who disrespects his body and risks his life that way. And now the screaming's started.

Mr. Triangle's Adventure is reviewed! I feel bad that I only gave it two hours instead of my more traditional three, bu that pirate ship is so big and I don't remember seein any locked doors. This is kind of a game that would benefit from a bigger resolution, I think. Maybe the maps wouldn't feel s...

2014 In Review: Mr. Triangle's Adventure

I keep getting hit by the big ones! I've heard tell that this game might have as many as 25 hours worth of gameplay, and there's no way in hell I'm gonna be seeing all that. I'm callin it quits at just around the 2 hour mark. I'm on a pirate ship, I have four people in my party. I've just found a ke...

Umm... stupid question, I guess. What file do I need to delete to eliminate any "donator bonuses"? I've never seen an OHR game with a donate button before, and I was messin around to see how it worked. I didn't realize it was gonna give me some kind of fancy item for doin it, tried to dele...

2014 In Review: Stand

There really isn't much content to this game and I'm not sure why it isn't on the tech demo list. Still, what we've got is a promising start with a lot more polish than you'd usually expect. It's the rather short story of a young man in a mining village on a stormy night. Men have become trapped in ...

2014 In Review: Slimeomancy

Slimeomancy is Spoonweaver's cheap Lemmings knockoff. Instead of Lemmings, we've got slimes. Instead of having a set percentage to rescue, you have to rescue all of them. And instead of hundreds of them, there's 5. None of the puzzles take up more than one screen, so the possible variations are limi...

2014 In Review: OkeDoke; Then And Now

I first played this game 5 years ago during the first(?) Heart Of The OHR Contest. To be honest, I was dreading this particular game because of how bad a time I remember having with it the first go-around. Still, I thought I'd be fair and see how the game had developed in the past 5 years. So, for c...
