Voulton will go and ask the guys who sell maps if they can give him an idea of where they are on the map, or at least directions to a a decent landmark before also going to the wagon.

Unfortunately it seems like the technique he talks about here uses a bunch of raster slime that I don't understand. He's squashing bitmaps or reading certain parts of 'em? Can't make any sense of it. As for the committee approach, absolutely. Feel free to post art here, feel free to post scripts and...

Technically I said a COMMITTEE, not a CONTEST. One is co-operative, the other is competitive. Feel free to pay bribes to whoever you want though! This article is very very interesting, though I haven't gotten to the meat of ti yet.

Voulton shrugs. Seems like as good a time as any to leave, most of the important stuff answered anyway. He tries to whisper to the rest "We'll have to watch out for that guy. Could be a real menace if he wants to be. Who knows how long he's been tailin us." He'll share his map with the pa...

Voulton wonders to himself why an INVISIBLE PERSON IN THEIR MIDST isn't cause for more alarm! Maybe there's a book somewhere about benevolent visitors who are visibility challenged...

So what I'm hearing is that we should form a committee for the immediate production of as many racing games as possible.

Voulton nods in the affirmative (that he's found the answer to any questions he might have had), but can't help feeling that maybe he's forgetting something. Too tired to think now.

Bob the Hamster wrote:Actually, we already have some crude scaling (Shrink dissolve effect) but yes, rotation is still a long way off.

Oooh! I forgot about that! I'm getting bad ideas now.

Mario Cart and F-Zero both took advantage of an SNES Display setting called MODE SEVEN . The Graphical Processing Unit of the SNES allowed for a lot of cool effects where it could scale or rotate a bitmap around, with Mode 7 being essentially the pinnacle of the scale/rotation abilities to emulate a...

Voulton looks around the room. Does anyone have a tan? Anyone got muddy boots? Anyone's clothes look a little ripped and worn like they've been through the brush? "That's weird. I'll be careful."

And another thing! He'll ask someone what to do if you want a copy of a map: Either hiring a scribe to trace it, buying some paper and something pencil-like and tracing it himself, or whatever the proper procedure here is. This post was edited to try to be more polite than just hiring a guy at rand...

Voulton wonders who put this bag of money on top of his pile of books. Tammytharn had asked something earlier, she must have something to do with it. Will have to remember to thank her. Put it towards some healing potions before we leave, maybe. This pile of books is also getting pretty big. Better...

It's a good start, but this doesn't look like any place Voulton has seen before, nor does it say where this Kingdom is in relation to anything else. It'd be nice to find some common frame of reference, but after looking through all these maps and coming up blank he's starting to realize the futilit...

Another thing: Voulton will take this once in a lifetime opportunity to try to find documented evidence of why evil chicks are hotter than good ones. That's somewhere on the priority list.

Voulton's interest is in maps, atlases. The layout of Averoigne, it's proximity to places he would know of, especially anything that would've been written about his homelands. If he' got enough time after looking over the maps, he'll switch over to researching all he can about the sword: What it is...
