Gogo don't need no Espers, he's still overpowered even if his stats aren't as good as some characters. Not that it really matters, half the characters in the game outclass every group of enemies.

Yeah, I'm playing Super AS WE SPEAK and the variety of weapons actually does make combat fun. I think Metroid II mostly got exploration right, but this game's really the one that gets monster shootin' right.

No boss should be longer than necessary, even if it's the last one. For the most extreme example of the opposite: The Saboteur's final encounter ends in one shot and it's absolutely perfect.

She takes 150 missiles so every one had to count (I had like 180 total), which was just no fun. The whole thing was just a battle of attrition no matter what method I went with, I'd rather the enemy or I die quicker instead of having to plug away like that forever.
