IhopeIfinisthis.RPG

In the interest of having something in the 2013 8-bit contest (as that is my favorite visual style and I've missed too many of them), I release this incredibly unfinished game with the hope of making it into something later.

Maybe I'll upload what is basically just a "heroes change sprites when wearing armor" tech demo then, because that and the overworld are all I have so far.

technically, you can have 4 colours a maptile, since you're not going to need transparency with them. but it looks cool I think this would break even that. I did find a workaround that I hope will be at least moderately pleasing to the eyes though. http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Ronin-Catholic/SS/i...

I've been testing some of my battles and whatnot. Also I redrew the overworld. http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Ronin-Catholic/SS/wurld_2.png Unfortunately, it seems that because I drew this map the way I did, many individual tiles are more than three colors. (In hindsight, saving my PNG copy in 4x in...

You guide a small party to a cave on an island and get stuck in the cave after a landslide. Rocks fall, everyone dies. :hurr: Charbile goes for a Nathan Karr-style surreal atmosphere with lots of brony references. Funny how long it took me to see the similarities beyond "I like what this is do...

Pretty sure the poison dagger just straight-up did poison damage instead of HP damage, so yeah, overpowered. The game wasn't crashy at all back when I used to play it...like 2004 through 2010. Also, the game comes with its own walkthrough, so if you have any problems with "walk into all the wal...

Between the two unfinished games about cartoon policemen fighting various criminals in cities named after but not geographically based on real US cities, I have to say that the other guy's game is better than mine. At least for now. And as far as nominating games, since I haven't played a lot of new...

This alone makes it worth a try. Don't really care about Citizen Kane but beavers are neat critters.

Apparently people sometimes like my graphics and textboxes. Wish I could be more enthusiastic about my ability to aid the project over the long run.

Just finished doing the scripts a few minutes ago. I probably won't have anything playable in time for the contest, but I'm having fun making a game again. I missed that feeling.

Okay, because of that dialogue I now like Triangle too.
